Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

I have heard he isn't a ball player. In that case, I don't want.

From some of the comments I'm getting a feeling that this guy is another Mkhitaryan. Great when he's in form but terrible when not. Not sure how much we need this type of a player right now.

Because I don't believe he's good enough for us. He is a fantastic striker off the ball, but the rest of his game isn't of the required standard. We need someone who is better at controlling the game from deeper in the #6 or #8 positions. We also have Pogba who is much more talented than Fernandes, so him coming to us doesn't make any sense.
Yeah I get the same feeling from this player. Wary of another expensive blunder.

Bruno playing in the midfield today.

So much wrong with this post, just epitomizes the red cafe these days.

A rare opportunity to watch him today. I watched him against Switzerland, but that wasnt his position, so was a bit useless.

Instead of believing random, generally clueless people on the internet, it may be a better idea to actually watch him and form your own opinion.

There's been a big enough swing in the odds on us to sign this guy.

We're now 4/9, Tottenham drifted way out to 8/1. Liverpool, who I don't think are at all interested, are second favourites.

I know odds generally mean feck all, but I'm becoming very confident that we're going to get this guy.

Had some nice touches, a threatening cross and a good long range effort on goal.

He is? What's he done so far?

Worked the keeper with a very good shot, one shot/cross (think it was more of a shot to be fair), and one or two great deliveries into the box.

TBF I think he also played a very dodgy pass back to put Holland through (unless that was someone else) but his general play I think has been pretty good. I've seen him pick the ball up from more central areas so it's not like he's just living in the final third.

When roaming he has come up with some good moves to instigate attacks and up the tempo of Portugal's game - really looks capable of making the team tick.

A good shot that forced a decent save, and a great cross after coming short for a corner.

He also dragged a shot well wide and gave the ball away in horrific fashion, gifting it to a Netherlands player deep in their own half.

On the whole, I'd call it an erratic performance with the good outweighing the bad.

Looks like an interesting player, definitely can see why he's such a goal threat. I wish we had Bernardo with him though, they look great together.

Guedes on the otherhand looks very poor who I thought was highly rated once?

Aye Guedes looks absolute cack.

I actually think he's a joy to watch when given the freedom to roam. You can see the difference between this game and the last - so much more in his element when roaming.

looks very decent

very much in the free Mata role rather than a box to box midfielder role though he is playing fairly centrally

edit: he and Semedo look a good combo - plenty of opportunity for him to get forward

not really a convincing performance so far, his frequent belts over the bar could be frustrating in the long run, still - we could do worse than his direct style

Don't say that, city will be buying him if that's the case

if he is weak, they wouldnt even have a first thought though...
I'm just giving my opinion on a player I've seen a fair bit of for Sporting. For me, he doesn't have the strength on the ball to be a good CM for A top team, and it's why I personally don't want him and why I'm not surprised City don't want.

To be fair, his stats are amazing and he does have other good qualities so I'm not surprised City were looking at him, but, for me, his lack of press resistance is too big of a problem.
