That wouldn't surprise me at all. He's weak on the ball which is why I said months ago I wouldn't want him. City want CMs who can resist pressing opposition and this guy isn't good at shielding the ball.
How do you know this?
I noticed that too. In most YouTube clips, he has ample of space around him. He ll have less space in PL for sure. That wouldn't surprise me at all. We controlled most of the games that we lost last season though. Either through inompetence in the back, or the frontline shooting blank.Liverpool are an exception to the rule. Klopp's entire ethos eliminates the need for having specialised midfielders who can control. I don't see Ole having the kind of impact on the collective to be able mitigate a not so special midfield as Klopp has done. We need to be realistic.
PSG away was just a smash and grab.
No offense but that line of yours - "doesn't matter how much you control the game as long as you score", for me, typifies what's wrong with United these days. Were always looking at winning/winners/goals/ambition/making statements without figuring out and focusing on the process that goes on to achieve it. You can addd all the goalscorers possible but the team will not reach the level we want it to unless the buildup and cohesion is at a high level. That generally comes with A) good coaching and B) players who contribute to the buildup. Not saying this chap can't do it, but I'd like these things to be emphasized and priorities rather than an afterthought.
yet look at ajax. Not a big team yet cultivate players that can play all over the pitch. This mindset of getting players that can score goals is pointless since against the top sides we will hardly get any chance. psg was a fluke and shouldn't be used as an example. More times the dominant teams win and that is what we should strive for. ofcourse there are always the lucky wins(psg away) but thats not how you win championships.
Meant that hes not the type of player that we should be looking for. Hes a #10 who puts up good numbers but isn't this exceptional player from a technical point of view. He's good, but I just think we need the all round midfielder and the defensive midfielder rather than an attacking mid. It just wont be well balanced with him next to Pogba. How do you know what type of player we are looking for?
I really like Bruno but logically speaking he's still unproven in a top league. Maddison has shown he can cut it in the premier league and would be a safer option, although he might be the more expensive option.Maddison or this guy?
Maddison or this guy?
Who would you like to bring in?Neither. Only way they would fit into the team is if Pogba is sold, which we should only consider next season. There are better options available if we are going to find someone to control our attacking play.
They are great setpiece takers though, something that we need.
EuroSport saying he has chosen Spurs?
I'm pretty sure Spurs are not looking to sign him.
Would be music to my ears if true..EuroSport saying he has chosen Spurs?

to replace Erickson?
Do you reckon the interest in that Lo Celso guy still exists? Seems to have gone quiet. If Eriksen leaves - which is still quite a big IF at this stage - I think Spurs have other players in mind to replace him.
Because I don't believe he's good enough for us. He is a fantastic striker off the ball, but the rest of his game isn't of the required standard. We need someone who is better at controlling the game from deeper in the #6 or #8 positions. We also have Pogba who is much more talented than Fernandes, so him coming to us doesn't make any sense. Why's that?

He’s a final third merchant. Gylfi Sigurdsson with juiced stats. That wouldn't surprise me at all. He's weak on the ball which is why I said months ago I wouldn't want him. City want CMs who can resist pressing opposition and this guy isn't good at shielding the ball.

Either will fit in with Pogba fine with a decent DM and back line.Neither. Only way they would fit into the team is if Pogba is sold, which we should only consider next season. There are better options available if we are going to find someone to control our attacking play.

Kai Havertz should be a priority, even if it means over spending to get him.Doesn't it? Pogba had to play way too many games last season. Would be nice if we had a player to rotate with him. If Pogba picks up an injury we're in trouble.
The Star is saying the same thing

Deal could be off according to Mirror
Too bad we just hired a manager who is allergic to possessionIf it’s true he’s not very press-resistant, we should look elsewhere. Time to really lay a foundation. Have to say, all the focus on City players fitness forgets the point that they control over 60% of the possession in 95% of games (rough estimate, before it gets pulled up by the first pedantic poster), so they can actually take a rest while in possession.
Not obsessed by possession by the way, but football has changed, and it’s time we move with the times.
Do you reckon the interest in that Lo Celso guy still exists? Seems to have gone quiet.
I still feel like its far from a given that Madrid will come in for Eriksen and that he'll stay if they don't.
Kai Havertz should be a priority, even if it means over spending to get him.
He’s not, his first stint at Molde he almost overdid it imo. If he has the know-how to incorporate it effectively in a playstyle at this level is anyones guess however.Too bad we just hired a manager who is allergic to possession
Havertz is at Leverkusen under the guise of Rudi Voller, so i'm optimistic he will do his utmost to sell him anywhere but Bayern. I'm not sure Dortmund would pay the asking price either so we might have a outside chance. But it seems like he will stay at Leverkusen for another season.Thing with German talents is they want to go to Bayern or Dortmund
And then we'll moan at the first sign of him having a semi-decent season.I think we will lose out on him to Spurs.

But I do agree we need someone other than Pogba to create for us. A creative #8 would be my preference.
