I personally don't think any scenario of Pogba with Bruno Fernandes can be properly balanced. Pogba is at his best as the most attacking mid (and finds the most consistency there). We've tried the other positions countless times, it just doesn't end well. Pogba needs to be the midfielder with the most freedom, so we have to look at an all rounder and a defensive mid.
In today's market, how much would you say he's worth?
With a competent board 60M. Militao went for 50M.
Other options? 50M with 10M in objectives ( numbers of starts, goals, assists trophies etc.) OR 50M plus a player or players included in the deal.
In todays market a player who had the season he had and to be an international and only being sold for 45M would be a joke.
Porto or Benfica would have no problem getting 60M for him but since Sporting are run by a bunch of losers nothing would surprise me anymore.
Will try source where I read it but read something in recent weeks that Fernandes could be the ideal ‘pivot’ for Pogba. Combative, good work rate, and good all round game. I don’t like the idea of Pogba just simply being let loose and two other players having to be restricted as a result.pogba should be able to offer more than that.

Looked like it will go down as an OG but in one half he’s got himself in position to have three good attempts on goal from edge of the box. Not bad. And he actually shoots. Sometimes you’ve just got to have a go.
He does look a class above when he does get a hold of the ball. Been pretty frenetic, I still have hopes we get him.

But he's to blame too. He missed some really crucial passes to the forward on the break away. He's been caught on the ball also once or twice. Don't know if it's the heat and the game has taken a toll or...? I hope he's not such a low tempo player normally?

I agree he has missed some passes on the break away but when you don’t touch the ball for so long ( like you said 2 seconds) you go cold. He maybe had 5 touches the whole second half.

Yeah Coates and Mathieu have been very good. Porto could have scored or 6 if it werent for them. But should Coates have been off for the handball?
