Really don't understand the meltdown, by all accounts we've never really been interested in Bruno to put a bid in. The only midfielder we've been linked all summer is Longstaff, who Ole sees as a DM. Bruno is someone I believe to be Pogbas' replacement, if he were to be sold. His price has been €70m all summer, so its a pretty straight forward transfer given Sporting have set a price and player is willing to move.
Also, Spurs bidding €45m is expected. Levy is a genius, he'll try with low bids for likes of Celso/Bruno then pretend time ran out so they couldn't buy these good players
