Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

United needs to be rebuilt I wonder why some people say Bruno and Dybala would not happen at the same time, if the news would be correct we just swap Dybala and would not pay more for him, then we still have money for Bruno but if you think we should spend money on a CB then we are short in budget probably

I’d say this looks more unlikely now with talks going around about Dybala and that, by the looks of it, Pogba will stay.

Didn’t Simon Stone say that we’ve never been in for Fernandes? Maybe that’s always been the case? Or, maybe, United “leaked” that to him when it was more certain that Pogba would stay?

Didn't Di Marzio or some other supposedly reliable journo claim the deal was done over a month back? Now it is close. So either we've decided to unagree the deal slightly or, perhaps surprisingly, journalists are full of shite.
Di Marzio is as reliable as it gets. I'd suspect that a deal is in fact agreed but for it to go ahead something needs to happen first, ie we get Pogba money for instance or a Lukaku cash sale rather than the dybala swap.

Crazy times mate. Let’s hold hands.
latest

If (I know huge if) we are about to sign Dybala, Maguire and Fernandes? It has to go down as the greatest week in the history of muppet-kind

That’s for sure. It’s just to good. Woodward will restore his legend status as the greatest ever if he pulls this off.

I would love to get Fernandes as well as Dybala but if he stays at Sporting this summer (which looks likely if we don’t buy him) then there is no reason we can’t pick him up next summer. Both would allow us to improve and finally get rid of Mata and possibly move on Lingard

I hope we don't miss out the chance on signing Bruno, but imo i think its highly unlikely due to english media denying our interest.

When have the English media got anything right? Especially on news about a foreign player?

I'm looking forward to the transfer speculation in January when Bruno Gaitan will be on his way for his medical...... again.

Dafaq? If it’s a transfer we want him when we want him. That’s goes for any team signing a player from another club. Unless you are willing to reduce the price for a later time period. If you ask 70m and a team offers you 70m then you do the transfer.

Bruno>Dybala

Sporting Lisbon regular viewer I take it? I bet you've never watched him play apart from for Portugal in the friendly cup.

I'm amazed at the hundreds of posters on here who are Fernandes experts.

YouTube no doubt? Go on admit it.

I've watched him play at least a million times and on Mondays and Thursdays I do his laundry.

I'd rather we buy Bruno over Dybala. I could be well off kilter, but Dybala strikes me as another prima donna kind of player who will probably spit his dummy out rather than buckle down and put the effort in. He's exactly what we don't need judging by a lot of previous signings we've made. I highly doubt we sign both, but if we do it means Pogba is out this season IMO. I would be content with Bruno and Maguire as our only other signings, with Lukaku and Darmian leaving, while J.Pereira goes on loan. Hopefully we could shift one of Bailly/Rojo too, but I'm not sure on that yet. We really should be selling a CB though.

Solskjaer pretty much said that pogba is starting against Chelsea so doubt he is leaving.

Bailly is out for 6 months so can't see us selling him this window. Rojo is probably the one leaving together with darmian. So Lukaku rojo and darmian out and maquire fernandes and maybe dybala in.

Based on what? Strikes me as odd how people get personal opinions of people they've never interacted with, spoken with, probably never watched an interview with etc. What has he done to suggest he is the sort of person to spit his dummy out? Seems an unfair assessment. Now, if you were to question where he would fit and if he would suit a potential style we are looking to play, fair enough. But how has the personal judgement come about?

Strikes me as odd that you think it's odd that people have opinions. This is a forum right?

I said I could be well off, but last season it felt like he didn't really take to Ronaldo becoming the main guy? His output drastically declined. Most of the fire is fuelled by the media of course. The games I've seen him in, he reacts like a Suarez or Neymar when things don't go his way. Just looks like not the right attitude for us, which is a big part of why he wouldn't fit IMO. Just my opinion though, and because I say this doesn't mean I wouldn't love to be proved wrong if he joins us.

I was thinking he was more of a Suarez tbh..

He is a normal football player. He isnt a snake, and he also isnt a bellend like Tevez or a biter and racist. He isnt standing out with his behaviour on or off the pitch. He isnt as aggressive or annoying as Suarez, faking injury, talking to the ref all the time, protesting every foul and handball. He has some traits like usual with footballers from southern Europe or south america, but nothing extreme.

Dybala is the more talented player but Bruno would be a better fit for the Prem and for us if we had to pick one of the two. Dybala doesn't press nearly as well or as much as Bruno. OGS seems to want us to press high and on the first trigger, from what I've read and seen Bruno does this well and has good work-rate and energy whilst Dybala on the other hand, comes alive when the ball is at his feet rather than going chasing after it.

I wouldn't be against getting both. It seems we are not going to get the cash we want for Lukaku so a swap deal with a top top player makes sense and we can still bring in Bruno to bolster our attacking options.

So they’ve been hoeing him out for months now there telling people he needs to play a super cup first. Right!!!

I've always felt that this Bruno pursuit was a lot of hot air, but if there is some serious truth to the Dybala exchange deal, and I really believe that there could be, then I just don't see United signing both players.

The business of offloading Lukaku and bringing in a big name star player is probably more attractive to the club.
