65 million? Yikes. This has panic buy written all over it.

But I guess it wont be the first time we got rinsed in the transfer market

Haven't read that article, but logically if a player improves your team (and you would've bought that player in the summer anyway), why does it not make sense to buy him earlier? That way, even if he doesn't contribute this season, he'll have had six more months to settle and integrate into the squad.
Don't disagree with that statement. The article was more about how many more expected points you could get for the amount of money invested in January. History says very little.

Cant imagine we'd pay anywhere near that much for him. Ole has recently said that we will not panic buy. The guy would prefer to risk the sack than waste our money - I really believe that. If we sign Fernandes it's because the price is right.

By many accounts Sporting had overvalued him in the summer and now they need cash quickly. It seems like the time is right for us to get a good value deal here. If this goes through my prediction is it will be closer to 45 with a few performance related add-ons (which the media will no doubt include as they all seem to love making it appear that we pay top dollar for everything)

Seeing more rumours popping up of Spurs getting involved. Shit sources like the Daily Star, Express etc. But the longer this drags on the more likely other clubs could move in. Get it fecking done!

We fecked about in the summer for each and everyone of our signings (apart from James). Why should it be any different now.

Same sources also reckon spurs are after Gedson

They're after a different Fernandes.

They mix up Harry Kane and Harry Maguire, so this one is easy for them to cock up.

Gedson plays a different position doesn’t he? I suspect Bruno would be a replacement for Eriksen. Hopefully not though.
IMIO spurs problems are scoring. Son doesn’t look 100%. Kane’s out for a long while. It’s a problem where they are going to get goals. Not sure a midfielder, and an unproven one at that, is what they need

We knocked £10m off Leicester’s valuation of Maguire and £5m off Palace’s valuation of Wan Bissaka, while keeping the sell-on for Zaha.

I doubt it is that we willingly feck about (though I know everyone imagines Woodward is clueless and has no awareness of being played), I suspect it's more the case that selling clubs like to drive up prices when we're involved (has always been so). That, and the way add-ons and performance related clauses get reported to make it sound super-high always feeds the media trope about United transfers. So I take any 'price' with a pinch of salt. If we want a player for the right reasons and he fits well, I don't care how much the fee, it's better than feeding it back to the Glazers. And let's face it, even at $65m, he still comes in cheaper than Maguire....(oops)

I doubt Spurs will fork out what's required to sign him especially when they need a striker. I assume they'll get Gedson Fernandes on loan and look for a striker

Wouldn't really mind this transfer but I can't say I've ever been seriously impressed with this guy when I saw him play. He looked really good in a match against PSV this season I think, but PSV's midfield and defense are truly so bad right now there aren't even words to describe it, so I'm not sure how to rate that performance.

Honestly Bruno reminds me of Davy Klaassen in a weird way, who once captained Ajax to a Europa League final and scored plenty of goals for them. To me he really seems more of a player that Everton should try to sign for 30-40 million than a player Manchester United signs for 50 or 60 million.

There's also the fear that a panic deal like this in January would lead to funds not being available for better midfielders in the summer, but then again maybe we can work out a deal with Sporting and get him for a fair price and offload someone like Rojo. Can't really get excited about all of this though.

I'm not too familiar with this dude and refuse to watch a YouTube comp that makes him look like Messi.

Can someone give a quick breakdown? Position, how well his skills are suited to the league, attitude etc

Thanks!

It’s amazing how much more negative people are about him now that it’s seemingly looking likely to happen.
I think they are just simply refusing to get excited about a player who could bring everything we've been missing for a long time.

I know their after Gedson Fernandes but they were saying their ready to reignite their interest in Bruno and could use Foyth as part of the deal to reduce the fee but like I said shite sources so hopefully it’s BS.

No it doesn't. There's really no proper reason. WITHOUT mentioning the fricking league standard.

I don't know what you're on about, but what Judas described are quite literally the classic stages of Muppetry, so yeah in a way it is indeed amazing how the patterns move like clockwork. Someone into psychology should do a thesis on it or something.

Unless this one has real movement tomorrow (Monday) I think it might just turn out to be a wild goose chase all over again. I’d lay against it happening if nothing tomorrow.

Rojo to leave permanently and Lingard on loan with £2m clause to buy.
