Bruno Fernandes | Signed

Reality check: Dumb and Dumber have spent weeks negotiating the same deal for Bruno Fernandes with Sporting Lisbon that the Portuguese club wanted in the first place. Amazing what fake news about Barca interest can do.
Can't you take any pleasure in something good finally happening? Jesus.

If anyone needs their eyes opening this Bruno fiasco tells you all you need to know about what kind of incompetent twats are running the club. Haggling over 5-10m euros for a month, news about Barcelona interest leaked today and here we go Arnold and his master Woodward cave in and pay up. Absolute fecking clowns.
Sorry mate, but no same human can believe the Barca links were genuine, or that it forced our hand in a matter of hours. If anything, it shows all the people that were losing their shit that they were right to haggle. Those people that just say pay up are usually the ones who like to quote how much money we've wasted on Maguire, Fred etc.

Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United.

»55M / € fixed »+ 10M per objectives (realistic)» + 15M per objectives (less realistic)

British papers will be like "Manchester united have signed Bruno Fernandes for £80m"

Bang on mate.

What's that good about wasting the entire window trying to negotiate the price then paying it fully instead of just paying it from the start, get the deal completed and start scouting for a striker ? The euphoria of finishing a deal in the dying minutes is what Woodward depends on to cover for his terrible market business.

Hes far better than Pereira. He is prone to turning it over a lot but hes someone who takes a lot of shots and creates a lot of chances. Tries shit all the time. Is good at that.

We need a striker with poacher instinct. Martial most of the time stays outside of the box and there will be no one to hit that rebounds.

Sky are full of rubbish. I can just imagine someone texting into the centre saying they have a good source saying Bruno is going to Barca.
Producer goes get that yellow bar going NOW !

All focus and energy of this whole window has been put on sealing at deal with Bruno, and now he might very well end up in Barca. Probably no signings then..

This deal doesn't do anything for me not because I don't want him but considering our injuries and our team 1 player in is less than the minimum acceptable amount for me.

Atleast get a striker on loan

Now get a REAL striker and defensive midfielder in the next 3 days and we can be happy with January.

Yes, I know.

None, but they were thought of as potential winners at the time of their transfers, which was my point. Kind of hard to use that metric considering no one other than Ronaldo or Messi has won it, apart from Modrić, in the last 13 years.

Bit tricky yes. I maintain a lot of players also want to prove it in the pl to get that dream move to the nicer climate of Spain and one of the two dominant teams, making their later prime years easier and more enjoyable.

The voice of reason in this thread, people using certain reports to push agendas, great post.

So what position will this guy play if he signs?

I have never seen him play but he seems to be a central midfielder from clips.

Bruno to come on for Lingard/Pereira against Wolves and score a winner. Instant pan to both of them with a look like it's time to pack our bags.

I'm sure Fernandes and his people have forced Sporting to do this deal. I don't think Spoting wanted to let their best player go for that initial fee with add-ons like, "winning Balon D'or" or "Bruno scoring 6 goals every 30 minutes."

would have loved a striker in this window but tough time to do business. Don't forget we have Pogba and McT to come back in Feb, if we get Fernandes he offers us a goal threat from mid as does Pogba. Both players can play a pass which will prevent Martial from continually dropping too deep. I've been critical of Martial but in fairness his service has been woeful, with potentially 2 players who are creative to come in, it well benefit him

I won’t believe it till Matt Baker announces it on Countyfile, he’s as honest as they come.

Pretty sure TVI24 said before that a deal was close between United and Sporting and that Bruno doesn't want to go to Valencia and Barca, he just wanted to go straight to United.

Looks like it's a moot point as it's being reported now that Barca have broken (stopped) negotiations with Valencia about their deal.

I'll very pleased if it's confirmed he's coming. We desperately need quality players in our midfield.

If it's £46.6m with up to £10m in addons then we've done well to hold our nerve for 3 weeks considering reports were coming out of Portugal that they were demanding £65m + £15m addons.

There's so much unfounded information in this post, I can't even be arsed to point it all out. Just seems like you've believed every negative you've read this month and can't even allow yourself the momentary pleasure of finally getting the guy.

Sounds like we've done well in getting the price reduced.
I don't think anyone here is prepared to hear this argument. Based on this thread, Woodward waited for 3 weeks and paid exactly what Sporting wanted.
