It is not petty cash but it’s not unreasonable for a good player now which I think he is.

I should also add that for transfer rankings the base fee is the one counted where he’s not in top 50 in the list I am looking at. Of those 50 transfers 44 were made in 2010s. 38 of which in the second half of the decade. 14 in last year alone. The market is not what it was.

Though, this is still a big transfer and I hope he does well.

Well to be fair, they'd have too wouldn't they? Didn't they push it as breaking news that Barca were interested? To pull back on that now would be daft, so they'll just go with the story that both clubs have had a bid accepted
 
Reality check: Dumb and Dumber have spent weeks negotiating the same deal for Bruno Fernandes with Sporting Lisbon that the Portuguese club wanted in the first place. Amazing what fake news about Barca interest can do.

What‘s your excuse now? United inserted 15m for no reason is that what you are trying to say?

Why is it matters now but not yesterday when I tried to tell you that Sporting could increase the asking price to 80m euro to make the buyer to get closer to 70m Euro?

Hes far better than Pereira. He is prone to turning it over a lot but hes someone who takes a lot of shots and creates a lot of chances. Tries shit all the time. Is good at that.
 
Can someone tell me the type of player he is? What are his strengths, and most similar player in the PL.

I know he's a creative 10. But is he more of a technical player or a workhorse?

I didn't say that it was unreasonable, i said that it was a lot of money. Whether it's reasonable or not depends on the players past performances and to be honest I don't know him enough to judge. I'm just hopeful that he will be worth every penny, it will mean that we have a very good player.
 
If anyone needs their eyes opening this Bruno fiasco tells you all you need to know about what kind of incompetent twats are running the club. Haggling over 5-10m euros for a month, news about Barcelona interest leaked today and here we go Arnold and his master Woodward cave in and pay up. Absolute fecking clowns.
 
Anyway it was fully expected to happen in the last day of the market after we increase our offer. Anyone predicted anything else ?

It's not quite a straight fight between us and Barca because Bruno would be required to go to Valencia till the end of the season if he accepts their offer. Think I read somewhere he would just prefer to go straight to Manchester. We are probably offering higher wages too.

Edit: Fabrizio Romano, frankly the most reliable football journo on the planet, says that Bruno is buzzing and ready to fly to Manchester tomorrow.

Yep, you see players making runs in behind for the first 5-10 minutes of each game and when no-one plays a ball through they stop making runs and are static for the rest of the match unless we are countering. Hopefully he will start playing some through balls to keep them interested for longer when we have possession.

Pretty sure TVI24 said before that a deal was close between United and Sporting and that Bruno doesn't want to go to Valencia and Barca, he just wanted to go straight to United.

When did you say that at all. You just said flat out their asking price is 80m, there wasn't any nuance I saw anyway.

The initial fee will be around 55m euros (£47m) but add-ons could increase the overall cost to 80m euros.

£55m agreed (€55m + €10m) for Bruno but too late to also get ourselves the defensive midfielder and striker we also, desperately, need. But hey!, 5 attacking midfielders in the squad now makes it imperfectly balanced again.
