Yes, I had to mention 3 seasons prior to Pep as that's the only way to show the influence of Pep. It's not hard, it's not agenda, it's simple logical thinking. He played wide before Pep was manager, he played as wide player even under Pep (first season). So playing wide excuse somehow didn't stop him completing more than 80% of the passes.

His pass completion isn't spiked but magically his pass completion improved once he started to play under Pep. If only pass completion is somehow related to coach's playing style.

KdB averaged 78, 76, 75, 76, 70% pass completion since 2017-18.
Bruno averaged 71, 74, 74% since he joined PL.

So KdB on an average 76% playing under Pep, Bruno average 74% playing under Pep.

One player is "efficient" and other is "Careless" with possession.(2% difference with average of 50 passes per 90 mins will give 1 extra misplaced pass per 90 mins)

Yeah winger excuse can be put to bed now.

(Stats from Fbref)
I don't see the relevance in comparing KDB when he was 21-24 to Bruno now, especially when he played a lot of games out wide for both Wolfsburg and City.

Bruno gets shit more for his bad decisions and attempting ridiculously high risk passes at the wrong time rather than the actual % stats. He has no feel for the game at times and can go for the hail mary pass when we are struggling for possession. KDB is a much smarter player as @Brwned mentioned previously is less likely to lose possession in key areas of the pitch.

The low cross from the inside right channel is probably what reduces KDB's passing stats to the 70s, it's a consistent mode of attack used by City and requires extreme precision to be successful. KDB is not infuriating with his passing so will not get anywhere near the same level as shit Bruno does.

Above was my initial reply to you. I had no interest in getting involved in a pass completion % circle jerk as that was not the basis of my argument. It was mainly about his decision making.

Even if I do decide to entertain your % stats, I made reference to KDB's age and position being key factors and they obviously are. Not sure about those fbref stats but whoscored has him at a low of 81.5% to a high of 83.7% during those four seasons. Whoscored numbers are the same as PL official stats provided by Opta so I know which stats are of more relevance here.

He was in the mid 70s in his early twenties in the Bundesliga. His first season under Pellegrini where he still played on the wings a fair bit he went on to 78% and in his first season with Pep (16/17) where he played central more than he did under Pellegrini he hit a high of 81.95%. In 17/18 when he finally got moved to CM for good he had a completion of 83.44%

Again if its not obvious to you that position plays a part in passing accuracy stats then I'm out of responses for you. Stats aside, it's a very simple concept to grasp.

Playing under Pep has increased his passing efficiency of course but so has playing centrally.

This guy is on par or even better then de bruyne some of the passes he played against Atalanta was unreal, If de bruyne makes that assist that Fernandes did for rashford everyone would be raving about it.

Winger, young age keep that aside. KdB at his peak

So it's 1 pass per game.

So yeah, KdB would have got lot of shit as we wouldn't have won league titles and people would have moaned about KdB as the reason why we can't dominate possession as he keeps giving the ball away, averaging pass completion in 70s.

Fbref source the data from statsbomb, the site that works for lot of PL clubs. Even if you consider who scored stats, the difference is what, 3-4%? That's around 2 misplaced passes more than KdB per game.

Point is very simple, you can't just apply context to one side of the argument. Playing position matters just like under which coach they are playing matters too. It's not hard to grasp that.

It's from Neil Custis, who has a hit or miss record with exclusives (broke Maguire getting the captaincy, Gomes leaving, lot of different injuries...also said we were getting Bale on loan)

Man Utd star Fernandes told Solskjaer tactics had to change and he had to be allowed to play deeper before comeback against Atalanta

BRUNO FERNANDES told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to alter his tactics after Manchester United's first-half horror show against Atalanta.

At the break, the Red Devils trailed 2-0 to the Serie A side and the Portuguese told his boss something had to change.

A furious Cristiano Ronaldo was first to intervene as he took a leaf out of Sir Alex Ferguson's book and gave the first team the hairdryer treatment.

He blasted: "Are you not ashamed?!"

It was then Solskjaer took over and said the game was still there to be won if they played as a team and got the first goal in the second-half.

Fernandes then told the manager there needed to be a change in tactics and that he had to drop deeper in order get on the ball more.

It showed the increasing influence both Ronaldo and Fernandes are starting to have as the Red Devils season threatens to be derailed.

If Ole needed to be told by Bruno he has to drop deeper, then it explains why we have not been controlling games really. We have been playing the exact way our manager wants us to play but i do hope he saw the benefits of Bruno playing deeper against Atlanta and does not revert to type again for the rest of the season.

I doubt that's true.

Bruno has been deep most games this season. Its actually been the opposite for me - he hasn't been further forward as he used to be.

That pass to Rashford for tbe first goal was absolutely brilliant. Would not have been possible if he took a touch. That is what he brings to the team, even if he plays like shit for most of the game.

I don’t believe that for a second where is this journo getting such specific information from, sounds like pure fiction to me..

Cannot disagree more. He plays like a striker for most of the time.

What? I've noticed plenty of time where he seems even higher up the pitch than Ronaldo.

Aye, agree. My best guess is that because Bruno mentioned yesterday that the coaching needs to improve, Curtis went into pure fiction as in Bruno told Ole in the game that he needs to change his tactics.

That's really not a story. Players make suggestions all the time on how they can make tweaks within the usual parameters, Bruno has regularly switched between playing as another striker to playing as another centre mid within games and across games, in fixed positions and in reactions to the shifting dynamics. And players complain to each other just as much as managers, on the pitch and in the dresssing room. Rio said that Sir Alex would often give them shit for 5 mins and then leave it to the players to sort themselves out for the next 10, including the usual in-game tactical adjustments they'd be making on the pitch and Rio, Scholes, Giggs, Keane etc. would be organising anyway.

The idea that players just sit there silently while the manager dominates the conversation and they execute the instructions on the pitch with no thought or in-game management is just made up to create some drama. The only reason this is a story is because it fits a narrative that people want to read.

People criticise Bruno for giving away ball posession, which is specially serious agains't good teams. With Bruno's injured, we'll surely see an improvement agains't Liverpool without so many wasted passes.

Is Bruno injured?

Cristiano clearly watched Gladiator the night before

Watched that goal a few times now and rashfords willingness is fantastic too. Sets off in behind as soon as he sees the pass has been misplaced.

If Bruno didn't constantly try those through balls, Rashford wouldn't have made that run. That's why Bruno's higher risk play is an advantage, not an hindrance, in my opinion.

What? I've noticed plenty of time where he seems even higher up the pitch than Ronaldo.

That's when pressing not attacking or doing anything with the ball.

With the ball he is deep.

He should not have been playing, only just being declared fit before the game. It's been indicative of Ole's reign here, playing players before they are fully ready to play again.

Not gonna say if he scores it changes the whole out come but surely he has to put that one away. Probably wouldn’t have wanted the ball to fall to anyone else either he’s usually reliable in that position.

Another big PL game, another shite game
Fernandes is one of the the last players and last topics for criticism after that. What is he supposed to do? press for Ronny and the teleport back in to plug the gaps he leaves? It’s a fuking stupid idea from Ole to keep Ronaldo on the pitch.

Absolutely terrible, from the miss to the rest of his shoddy performance part of which played Pogba into make a fecking stupid tackle….but it shouldn’t have been a fecking hospital pass in the first place.

He should've passed.

Why…he’s been largely terrible since January

Should've squared it when he scuffed the shot. Any WC player with great vision would do so.

Yeah in a team full of performers who have all been completely inconsistent, Fernandes, our one CONSTANT in terms of creation has been the problem.

we have been shite for a long time...Fernandes is one player who has banked some leeway...

He deserves criticism, just like any other player on the pitch. Hasn't scored in 9 games and disappears consistently in big games. There is a lot to criticize and that's not even mentioning how his football general level has steadily decreased for months

Do you ever have a day off from the PDL? Must be exhausting.

Some people with their agendas here.

Bruno missing a 1 on 1 is not why we got destroyed today. The blame is not on any single player.

Never gets enough criticisms for some reason. He's been terrible for months

This has to be a troll or a Liverpool fan surely.:lol:
