Needs to recharge, his energy levels still look alright but he’s making poor decisions on the ball.

EPL player of the month doesn't tell anything tbh. We have all been watching him and to say he hasn't been at his best, even since early December, isn't a controversial statement.

A player who isn’t firing on all cylinders but still able to produce 3 goals and 4 assists in December isn’t a bad return! Agree he’s been sloppy in his passing, i hope we rest him (this will hurt my fantasy hopes, but it’s better for him )

He misplaced probably 80% of his long passes. He was shit. If the FK had went in, it would have been a bad game with a brilliant moment. Kind of what you expect from world class players.
No I don't think he misplaced 80% of his long passes. Anyway him misplacing passes is nothing new imo. What make Bruno special is his goal/assist contribution. We've been debating that to death here I think.

Like I said in my last post, he was like an inch away from a goal/assist. I can't understand how people say he's shit. He's just his usual self without the usual goal/assist.

It's true it seems he's out of gas though. By the last 15' he could barely run.

3 goals and 4 assists in what? 6-7 games. You don’t remember that! That’s very high expectations mate:lol:

Good stats...I’m talking about performances though. He was great against West Ham when he came on but very up and down even during games other than that. Leicester got a goal and an assist, if it’s worth calling an assist, but gifted Leicester an equaliser and wasn’t great during the game. City game from memory he was poor and I think the wolves game also, again an assist but your reaching really to say you’d expect someone to score from the pass....so it goes down on paper. I think he’s been poor for a while, perhaps he’s winning on stats but I’m sceptical

He drops deep plenty of times, no need ro decide anything. He is attacking mid who contributes to both attack and build up play.
The problem is he plays with a free role, as opposed to an actual midfielder involved in the possession play.

He doesn't show the possession play we're supposed to see from midfielders as we hold onto the ball and allow the forwards to organize themselves, because he often makes the same decisions a forward would. But like you said he also drops deep sometimes as though he's part of the midfield.

The split roles doesn't help our midfield play which is usually quite poor (a lot of that thanks to his constant overly ambitious passes), so I'd rather we either play him as a forward or a midfielder. Preferably the former since his overall play isn't as good as his goal contributions.

Possibly needs to recharge. He's not been his usual brilliant best over the last few games.

He wasn’t the worst player on the pitch but he’s obviously not having a great spell. It’s clear that the disjointed way our attack is playing is frustrating him and although Pogba is raising his game, I don’t think we’ll see Bruno back to his best until Martial, Greenwood and Rashford are doing much better.
He has been carrying more than his fair share of responsibility for our attacking effort for so long now, he must be in need of a rest. Whether we can risk giving him a break is a different question, though. If Ole had more belief in VdB I would feel more confident about our chances of navigating through this situation, but he seems reluctant to use VdB as a means of resting Bruno. Hard to understand.

His form is terrible & it’s worrying how often he goes missing against the better teams. I’d give him a rest in the next match to be honest. Looks knackered.

He just needs to calm down. Gets too wound up at times.

I'm not pretending I can read the guy but I really hope he is just tired and not getting a little big headed at United.

He is looking more chic. He was already a leader type of guy and that could easily deviate a little over the top where he requires Ole to remind him a bit about teamwork (with what might sometimes seem like slight under talented teammates).

He seems like he is taking unnecessary shots more than usual when the pass is clear and obvious, when the pass is available it's not happening as caringly and smoothly.

I'm most definitely not right. Again I just hope it stops and it's just a bit of bad form from tiredness like every player is aloud :smirk:

Poor again as he has been in recent games, but typically he nearly scored the winner. Hes just that type of player. Poor in possession but can still do that bit of magic. Agaisnt top teams though he needs to step up more.

Player with his output shouldn't be played in restricted role.

Only Maguire and Lindelof plays more passes per game than Bruno. That shows how involved he is in build up play.

Should've been hooked off at 70 mins with pogba moved to the middle

Had a bad game. He’d have to play shit for a good few more games for me to get on his back though.

our midfield play is poor because our 2 cms are poor. That's like placing blame in lacking possession on Bergkamp or Cantona.

He is vital indeed and regularly finds ways to affect the scoreline. Like you said he's been sloppier than usual and very moody.

stats largely define performances. A player might be poor in a game but score, we’d still say he’s poor. But this can’t go on for a full month. Against city, he was the only player trying to take shots on target and trying to create chances and score. He leads the team in this aspect. The team was generally poor against city for instance; why criticise him? Even today, similar defensive set up which takes away a lot from his game.

i hear your concern, which is valid (again, given bruno’s standards), but i just don’t want us as fans to go harsh on him and forget what he has done for a year now and what he can still offer

Yeh turning into Stevie me a little, always going for the glory.

It does have a little stench of that tbh. Then all that cry baby shtick getting subbed, he needs to humble down a bit and get back to the team player that came across in the interviews he gave because he's becoming more erratic without the goals/assists to save the performance.

Doesn't look tired to me, just out of form. Issue is that, bit like Rooney, when he's bad he's bad.

What's his record in big games? Other than the games against City, I can't remember him making an impact.

Atrocious today, needs to keep the ball better because when his passes aren't coming off, he looks really bad.

I wasn’t criticising him....I’m absolutely fine with him having an off period....just weird that he gets player of the month during it? City he was really poor though sorry. Also you can’t go off stats alone because Luke shaw for example today was our best player but stats won’t tell you that. Maybe their should be a stats award for goals and assists like their is for goals.

He has dropped in form hasn't he. Hopefully he'll get right back on it. Star player.

The overreaction was positioning him as some sort of deity. He is a consistent let down when the pressure is on. Some have compared him to KDB.
The pressure is always on, we are expected to win every game, and we’ve been doing pretty well at it for a while now.

He had a bad game, doesn’t make him a problem, it makes him human.
What did the other so called stars do today? Salah, Mane, Rashford etc. It might sound crazy but it’s harder to play against better opponents.

In the posters defence he’s been poor for awhile now
He does need to bring more to the team other than flashes of brilliance

Was sh*te today but if anyone has credit in the bank it’s him; shame as had he played half decent he’d have been able to provide a few key passes for Rashford to hopefully get onto.

Wanted him off instead of martial with Cavani going up top and pogba taking Bruno’s role
Always trying to pull of the pass of the season, there is no harm taking a touch and playing a high % pass every now and again.
Wasn’t all his fault, rashford timing is awful so he maybe rushes him a bit

With any big game its going to be harder, but Bruno came closest with his FK and Shot, so really was he any poorer than Liverpool's front 3 of any player in a United shirt...No!

On another day he is the match winner again and we forget about his sloppy play.

Not his best game but still glad he was trying things - thought Bruno looked a lot better once Cavani came on. Thought Rashy was much worse. I think the killer pass thing was coaching more than anything as Pogba was doing the same. Also Liverpools front three were awful too. Man I wish that free-kick had gone in

Thought he’d get booked today to get the suspension out of the way Wednesday

Seriously? A couple of quiet games and he’s poor?

He just won last months player of the month FFS.

Even today, he had our best effort on goal. He’s invaluable.

so a player can have very good stats but still be poor? Maybe other players with stats less impressive can actually be performing better, but i can’t get myself to agree with what you’re saying about stats not reflecting a full month’s performance.

we’ll agree to disagree i guess:confused:
