Has anyone read the first ten posts in this thread? ....
"Rodgers earned his Spurs at Chelsea and is a close personal friend of Mourinho. Their football and self belief is fantastic to watch"
"Fergie's replacement? "
"They play some wonderful football. quite an achievement. Credit to rodgers."

Give him time. It's all about consistancy at this point.

Should have read on....

"Know him personally. He's a knob."

He was made to manage them.

"I've likened us to a marathon runner just getting ready for the finish line, ready to make our move, and then we trip ourselves up."

It's actually quite funny when you read the thread from the start. A lot of praise for the guy mixed with a smattering of caution from some quarters. Then from post 67 it all kicks off when he's linked with the Liverpool job

 True. I thought at the time people were heaping praise on him when he'd achieved feck all....same with Lambert who's another over rated plonker.

Wonder what Brenton will come up with after this heroic defeat.

Half expect him to break out in a RAWK-esque poem and sign off with YAWN in the press conference.

Heroic performance against the mighty Zenit St Petersburg. The courage, determination, desire, work rate, passion, effort, commitment, energy, bravery, grit, tenacity and discipline of the Liverpool team was world class.

Except Lambert took a League one team to the Premiership and kept them there. Pretty good acheivement for me.

i really dont understand making a double substitution after 3 fairly quickfire goals make it 3-1 after only 60 minutes? the players on the pitch had a huge momentum and a double substitution just changed it. panicked.

He's on now.

''Overall fantastic''
''We may have lost the battle tonight but in terms of the war going forward we look forward to that''

"We may have lost the battle tonight but we won the war in terms of going forward"

if ferguson ever said anything remotely like that id have to question who was in charge of the team. genuinely embarrassing.

I might have missed the story but I don't understand why Liverpudians are convinced that he (Rodgers) is the messiah?

Lambert's a good manager given feck all help at Villa.

Shouldn't have left Nodge, he did an excellent job there.

Which war is exactly Rodgers said they won by getting knocked out by Zenit?

Liverpool's season at a glance

Premier League: Currently sit in seventh place, five points from a Europa League qualification spot and nine points outside the Champions League places
FA Cup: Victims of a fourth round giant-killing from League One side Oldham
League Cup: Knocked out in fourth round by manager Brendan Rodgers's former club, Swansea
Europa League: Despite a rousing comeback, could not proceed past the round of 32 as Russian champions Zenit hold on to win courtesy of an away goal from Hulk

BBC

Not that we set targets to lose things, but what do you think FSG's and opposing fans' targets were going to be in Brendan's first season?

CL spot, FA and Europa trophies in the cabinet, all while we cleared all our expensive wages out?

And for me it's hardly the sign of a manager likely to progress to a top club....Norwich is probably his level. Shame he got too big for his boots and jumped ship for Villa where he's not likely to achieve anything.

Top four apparently:

You look at our side on paper and it really should be top four

But seriously the team really under achieved last year. That's not saying we are/should be world beaters, but at the same time I don't think Rodgers has inherited a squad that is an 8th place side

Look at that team on paper, it should be top four.

Time we stopped underachieving.
We have a very strong squad imo. I'm excited about next season!
Completely agree, I am very excited about this squad and Rogers style.... Think it will suit a lot of our players.

Good OP. I agree, 75% of our squad is definitely good enough to go a long long way, maybe all the way.

That's just the first page
