A question to liverpool fans, who do you rate higher, rafa or rodgers? and would you want rafa back when rodgers gets sacked eventually?

That's a tough one. I rate Rafa for where he kept us during tough times (Hicks and Gillett). That's not to say he didn't spend a lot, he did.

But I really like Rodgers' brand of football. Have been a big fan since his Swansea days. The blow-away football we played last season was phenomenal and hasn't been seen since the late 80s in my opinion. Rafa's brand of football could never reach this level even with an in form Alonso, Torres and Gerrard. So currently Rafa is more successful but Rodgers' has a higher ceiling for me.

Rafa is in the past. As much as I liked him, I wouldn't want him back here if Rodgers ended up getting the sack.

Think it's really premature to start talking about replacements anyway.

No chance of Rafa coming back if/when Rodgers gets the boot then?

Liverpool fans still love him, right?

No chance under FSG unless we're completely out of options.

Rafa is one of the top ten managers in the world. Rodgers, as much as I like him, isn't. Rodgers wont get sacked. He'll win 40 leagues and European cups and move to Barcelona for a year to finish out his career. :)

Please tell me you mean "at Liverpool" and not in football in general.

Of course at Liverpool.

Well it's not of course is it, that's why I had to ask. Your club had the "best goalkeeper in the world", the "best defence in the world", the "best midfield in the world" and the "best striker in the world" at one point and yet despite having Rafa the "best manager in the world" you were still regularly finishing 7th-2nd in the league and doing nothing in Europe.

EDIT: TBF they did win the UCL

You can bring into this whatever bias and preconceptions you have. For me I answered the question. Of course at Liverpool.

I could get behind a campaign to oust Rodgers.

I don't think bad managers get a team to 84 points and score 100 goals.

I still expect him to be there for years.

Well of course Captain Obvious but most Liverpool supporters were dreading the absolute worst and will, I'm sure, have been somewhat relieved that it wasn't a mauling after all. Forget the team-sheet and just offer them a 1-0 competitive loss before kick off and most would have bitten your hand off.

Liverpool settling for a 1-0 loss before a kick-off against a bigger club? I love the new mentality.

I am sure that the first teamers would not have done any better, right?

"I trust the reserves"
"It's for the future"
"I never put on a team to lose"
...sounds like what Fergie said when describing his League Cup teams.

perhaps. but it looks like they have settled on Giggs as the next manager.
Probably not the thread for this topic, but I think United is unnecessarily desperate for Giggs to be their next manager. If he has proved he's good enough, then by all means, but let him be a manager first then see if he's good enough. The world won't cave if Giggs is never United's manager.

I can't see him going anywhere for another season or two at least.

Apparently, he's dating a lady who worked with Liverpool FC as a travel coordinator. Is it the same lady who interviewed him and he took a peek, ever so slightly at her cleavage?

I don't think it is. She was brunette, yes? The current one is blonde. Of course she could have changed her hair colour but I think they looked differently too.

Not the same one but, according to my Liverpool supporting mate, he's done the rounds in the place.

Blimey...I'd hoped that Steve & his wife had found more gainful employment since Moyes was fired...

His words, not mine btw

Strikes me as that sorta guy actually so would not be surprising.

I'm friends with somebody pretty in at Liverpool, and apparently he and his son are real dickheads.

Brendan "the shagger" Rodgers. He's probably always wanted a cool nickname like that.

Turning Liverpool FC into Harchester United.

Ahh, the old 'my Liverpool supporting mate says...' line.

It's not a patch on all the "United supporting mate's" on RAWK who:

Hate Van Gaal.
Think Di Maria is shit.
Wish we'd signed Balotelli instead of Falcao.
Hate United.
Think Fergie was a crook who was bad for the club.
Think's Liverpool is the best club in the league.
Embarrassed about Evra and his lying.

I saw a Liverpool fan on twitter say "Rodgers was lucky that he inheritated Suarez"

I hope he gets sacked, I can't stand the man! He's so smug, he really let last season go to his head.

See your point, its only a matter of time before a player sleeps with grannies behind his WAG's back. That won't draw the viewers in for long though, hmm maybe have a player sleeping with his BROTHER's wife. Now that would be sensational and unbelievable in the real world. People would surely watch that.

Hanchester United. Did I spell that right?

Touched a nerve, have I?

I can't believe Liverpool would consider sacking him. Remains to be seen if he can pull them out of their slump, but he should be afforded the chance.

Must admit I wouldn't shed a tear should the Rodgers myth be exposed. He loves the attention as much as Mourinho, with just one significant difference between them.

Yep - Mourinho doesn't have the Curse of Mighty Red hanging over him.
