I was about to post exactly that.But what about wum being poorly timed or just not being funny (2 in 2 for Cina)?
If at some point in the future van Gaal indeed is sacked, I expect any newly made threads then to be locked since there already exists one.

Although it's still good news LVG is in a sack, someone chuck him down the penines in it.
It was brilliantly and intentionally timed.
The fact that it wasn't funny was the whole point. Some of the meltdowns here have provided everybody else with a lot of fun.
People should accept that and get over it and take it for what it was.
The fact that a lot of people channeled their inner teenage girl on this thread, by default makes the thread funny.
If you make a wum thread which gets poor responses, then even if you don't get banned, you will be labelled as boring as Twigginater which is far worse than getting banned. If you make a good wum thread and people laugh, then I guess it is fair game.
WUMs which make people laugh (or send SMS with a lot of emoticons) have always been tolerated here despite that WUMs aren't allowed in footie forums. Similarly, nice original gifs have always been tolerated despite that gifs aren't allowed here.
It is amazing how people are unable to understand this but play the Illuminati mods for a private forum not being completely democratic.
