Television Breaking Bad

Best TV ever. The last episode is so good it could have ended the show there and then.

I concur, even the very last shot of the flowers was brilliant. I'm gutted that I have to wait at all to watch more, but I'm even more gutted that there is only on more season to come.

Don't know if its been posted. Also beware contains spoilers. Only watch if your fully up to date

Watching this the second time around, I actually hate Skylar a lot less. When you know where it's all going, you start to think Walt's just a real asshole.

Nothing can save Marie though.

I think this might be a show where watching it a second time through makes you lose a lot of the intended dynamics and feelings for the characters. Walt is supposed to be the guy you feel sympathy for in the beginning, and the whole "do I still feel sympathy and understanding for this guy's actions" as the show progresses wont be the same when you already know what hes like towards the end.

Yeah definitely. But I'd still recommend watching it again.

Just started watching it, I'm nearing the end of season 2. I thought season 1 was okayish, with quite a few periods where it feels that nothing is happening, but it's picked up and you can see the creators and writers got the right vibes as they moved along. I'm defnitely going to catch up to season 5.

I just realised I'm on holiday when this comes back. Bugger.

Priorities right in order

It gets better and better, peaking at the end of season 4 which is unmissable TV.

Promo for the fifth season, featuring some new footage;

Spot on.I didn't really like season 1 as it felt more like comedy than actual drama.Season 2 is good and the rest keeps on getting better

I actually thought season 2 was the weakest. The recurring

airplane plot

was a bit daft. It only really hit true greatness in season 3 when

Gus and those twins came into the equation.

The "bathtub scene" is probably my favourite from the show to date.

Same. I posted a link to it earlier in the thread actually. it's great.

I actually really enjoyed Season 1 for the way it blended comedy and drama. Super-dark comedy too, the way I like it. The "bathtub scene" is probably my favourite from the show to date.

Same. As I said before, I am one of the few who rates S1 more than S2.

My favourite scene is where Walter discovers that Crazy 8 has kept a piece of the broken plate and realises he's going to have to kill him.

I think my favourite scene, or atleast the one I remember most clearly is when Walt realises Skyler gave the money away and he just loses it and lies under the floor laughing manically as the camera pans away.

I'm two episodes into Season 4 on my second run through, Saul is an absolute legend. Mike is a great character aswell. Love Badger and Skinny Pete too, yo.

New episode tonight!!! The first 2 episodes of Season 5 have been screened to critics, and the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. It has a 98/100 Metacritic score, receiving perfect scores from all but 1 reviewer. But we'll ignore him.

Also, for anyone interested, here's the new trailer for Season 5, from Comic-Con. Looks like it's going to be amazing;

I'm glad that despite no one really backing it properly(Sky Atlantic should of picked it up), this has found a pretty big following in the UK now. Hype is huge for the premiere on Twitter.

I had like 5 people watching it on Netflix and have to give them the episode each week since they don't download, gonna be annoying.

Im about halfway through Season 3.

I have got to the point where
Hank just shot Tuco's two cousins.

I have to say I enjoyed Season 1 and 2 but I think Season 3 is a huge step up in quality.

I only started watching Season one about 2 weeks ago and have flew through them. Great show.

Great opener.

That opening scene was very interesting. Seemed like he was on the run. His cancer's back as well, although that contradicted all the hair growth. Didn't we see him turn 50 during the duration of the show? So it couldn't have been too far into the future.

It's so great that the writers on the show don't hesitate dealing with every little detail. Most shows might have just glossed over the video cameras with some convenient explanation.

According to Vince Gilligan, the story is currently set just under a year on from the date of the Pilot episode. Meaning the flash forward is just over a year on from the main story.

Pretty gutted. Tried streaming the episode live last night, which was going great until about 20 minutes into the episode, when the stream decided to fail. And now I can't watch it until later today :(

Great episode.

I don't think that flashforward was necessary though, would have been nice to stay completely without a clue.

Walt is gonna be truly ruthless in this season I think. No more hesitation

They have to be careful with this or there will come a point where people will root for Hank over Walt.

One of the reasons The Sopranos and The Shield could do the anti hero so well was because the people up against them weren't likeable. Hank's a great character, and very likeable, so things could get tricky.

I think it's great. You see Walt now reeking of smugness, towering over everyone else. But at the same time know, that he is going to fall off that tower in future. Balances it nicely.

Yeah I won't be surprised if another character propped up to rival Walt in this season

I think you're right about the balance the writers have still to maintain while evolving their main characters.I don't expect another "villain" to face him specially after the great one we had with Gus.
How can you top a bad guy like Gus in Breaking Bad ? I don't think it's possible and even more with the few episodes left in the entire show.Hank will also take another dimension I suspect in this season
