Television Breaking Bad

So you can read minds now? All this discussion has been is some people saying "there are hidden meanings everywhere" and me saying "no there aren't". The way I made my point this morning was kind of obnoxious but I stopped doing that when I was asked to. "The likes of me" "responsibility to put people in their place" where do you come up with this stuff?

It's a disagreement about how the show should be interpreted. I changed my style when asked but a disagreement is all it is.

I dunno man, you sound pretty obsessive to me. It's a bit sad isn't it?

This used to be a good thread, now in a weeks time we never have to visit it again. Always look on the bright-side, eh?

I know I'm right but I also know that I won't convince any fanboys so I would rather not cause unnecessary headaches for the mods when one of you reports my posts.

The need of convincing someone, it's the worst isn't it? Wish I could completely let go of it.

Just pitch up in The Dexter thread. Everyone's taking the piss out of it in there. You're allowed to in that thread. Not this one though.

Why is everyone on Eboue's case? He's just responding to posts that mentioned him to be fair. This thread should really be renamed to Breaking Balls...

Guess people who love tv-drama love.. well errr...real life drama.

I want to discuss the actual show. I love the show, I think it is fantastic. But instead this thread gets filled with stuff like the glass gif or the skylar Walt mashup square a page back because they are convinced that there is symbolism in everything. Based on the reactions, several others agreed with me so I'm not the only one. If someone posted ridiculous coincidences as part of a larger meaning in their favorite band's new album or some movie they just saw, they would get the same response I gave and no one would think twice. The fact that this show is highly rated shouldn't change that. I really don't know I am discussing television criticism with 24's biggest fan so I'll stay out of this thread till Sunday night.

The glass thing you have a point on but certainly not the Skylar Walt thing, that's quite obviously a call back to the first episode, not really the best example.

Yes but that's funny, no-one is censoring comedy, just needlessly antagonistic posting. Even if that posting isn't intended as such if it comes across as such, then it is acted upon. Some of you lose sight of reality very quickly.

We should talk about Breaking Bad again, outlandish theories are cool, stupid screencaps with humour added are great. Nonsense is just that, nonsense.

What if someone genuinely thinks the show is shit?

Fine say it once, and or give a reason why, then don't hassle people with bullshit if they like it. This isn't the general after all, a level of discussion is expected.

I personally always thought the killer twins were quite rubbish.

Their arc was ridiculous. Definitely the worst aspect of the show, for me.

I also was a little miffed about one aspect of last night's installment; the series to date had been progressing at break-neck speed despite not much time lapsing in the show, e.g. Hank realising Walt was Heisenberg in a matter of hours. Then last night, with the DEA and, we're told, half the country knowing Walt was Heisenberg, a whole MONTH passed by in the show without anything happening! The vacuum-cleaner guy left Walt and told him he'd see him in a month, which was almost the very next scene. Really?

Beyond ridiculous.

I always think I missed something ridiculously obvious in the show but why was everyone crawling at the start when they first came in to it? I never really got it. Seemed a bit weird

I didn't think it was that ridiculous. You're meant to believe that nothing actually happened, they explained there was a court case against Skylar...but nothing had happened with it, no one had obviously found Walt and Jesse was still fecked. They showed Walt Jr getting on with his life to the best he could. It wouldn't make much of an episode if they just showed nothing really happening. I agree it was a bit unorthodox of this show to just jump forward a month but if it didn't happen, or if it progressed a day of Walt in hiding and he'd of had a break down already and couldn't cope not seeing his family and his cancer had got a lot worse it would seem even worse timing.

Magnets, bitch.

Has this show taught you shit all?
