Break the bank for Pato

Pato would be a great buy, I'm not sure who I'd rather however - Aguero or this lad.

My fear is Pato turning into a Duck...egg.

Dont think we need him tbh, and he is probably Chelsea bound. Unless he can play out wide, it would be harsh to drop berbatov for him, or push Rooney out to the left.

Let's have some faith in who we have coming through. great mind mind you albiet in a crap league.

Ahhh, the old gem of comparing players who play in very different positions.

I love Rooney, but a Berbatov-Pato partnership would be sexual.

So you think Pato is better than Rooney? Personally i think Wazza's drive and inspiration is a bit more important for the team. If it comes to this i would drop berba to the bench and bring him on when we need something different. A Rooney-Pato partnership just seems more dynamic.

Or back to previous seasons' 4-3-3, put them all on at the same time, backed up by an energetic midfield trio.

It's a shame its the Chavs not us who have been linked with the lad. I agree with anything by now that a Rooney-Pato partnership would be so dynamic up front and give us a bit of an edge currently lacking.

Don't think he's necessarily better than Rooney, just think he'd compliment Berbatov better.

Which one?

He'll be the next Galactico as soon as Real offload one of their strikers next summer.

You would have to convince Sir Alex to break the bank because he doesnt think we are getting value in the current transfer market. Pato is valued highly and is worth a significant amount of cash though.

reminds me a lot of solskjaer the way he finishes. same baby face grin about him too. love to see him in a united shirt

Beckham once said about Pato that he had the pace of Walcott and finishing-abilities of Solskjaer.

I doubt Berbatov would be very happy about being relegated to the bench,

Well Tevez wasn't happy about being on the bench and look what happened to him. Berbatov is by no means assured of his spot at United just yet, he ended last season primarily on the bench for the big matches.

I don't know if you're joking or if I've been a bit slow here, but to laugh at any suggestion saying Pato is more talented than Anderson is mad, really. Personally, being a bit of an Anderson loving gimp, I wouldn't say there's too much difference in terms of how good they could end up becoming, but Pato's certainly a special youngster and I'm not surprised if there are people who think he could go on to be the very best.

I think with the likes of Pato, Aguero, Messi, Balotelli, Fabregas, Rooney, Gourcuff, Higuain etc, we're going to be seeing a very impressive generation of footballers in the next few years. They're already excellent as it is.

You missed out a certain someone.

Best young player in the world and a future worpld player of the year winner imo and would be delighted if we got him as I think he is the closest thing to Torres out there in terms of pace and ability but cant see us getting him because of the price involved. Didnt Milan release a statement last summer saying they rejected a monster bid from England which wasnt from Chelsea
