Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

So please forgive me and try not to take this too personally but I couldn't give a flying f**k as to what Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, United, Gillingham, Stockport, Bury and any other football club on the planet thinks about how we got the money or how we go about spending the money. Right now I couldn't give an Owl's hoot as to bringing through some unknown kid from some unknown club from some unknown village on the planet, nurturing him and watching him grow with us. I'll tell you why that is, because for years we've done that and clubs like your's used to come and take them off us when all the hard work had been done. You would lord it over us like some self righteous lord of the manor who was coming to take what was rightly their own.

What is the point of watching football then? I mean have a day out a few pints and hang out with mates. Do they talk football? Or whatever manner of shite.

This IS what football is. On the pitch, in the grandstand, around the stadium, on the training ground in the academy.

Bizarre thing to say when trying to reconfirm the anguish over the dross that he had to support.

Haha, the irony of saying that about United. A club whose recent success has been underpinned by the class of '92. Success built upon a foundation laid by Matt Busby and his Busby Babes.

Got to be hard for an average club to build their way out of mediocrity without help.

First the tax payers gifting them a stadium, and then a couple of benevolent owners gifting them international players, and respected managers who otherwise wouldn't have heard of them.. as well as improving their infrastructure. Clearly after a few decades the world owes them that much.

They suffered, Drainy. They really suffered.

So whilst you enjoyed your time in the sun, we floundered and just about kept afloat largely due to thousands of us turning up week in week out. Yes we was here when we were shit. Whilst you have never ever had to witness years upon years of some of the worst footballers you could ever imagine wearing your beloved clubs shirt.

[...]

Our name has been dragged through the mud, kicked in the balls, laughed at from all corners yet one thing has remained constant through it all.

The bitterness.

Saying that you have to be bankrolled to break into what was the top four doesn't hold up seeing as Spurs broke into it before they did, albeit in a year that Liverpool collapsed. They might have held onto that spot had City not pushed them out the following year. If anything City have made another champions league spot unattainable due to their wealth seeing as they are pretty much guaranteed to finish in the top four now.

I'm in tears just thinking about the tragedy of their situation.

How can we live in a world so cruel? All those years instead of donating to cancer charities we should have donated to Man City. Poor them.

Seriously though.. £1,000,000,000 spent on a vanity project so far. It's sickening.

We should record a charity record for them. Then the sheikh can buy the charts so it gets to number one.

Let's get to writing.

I'm thinking "Threeeee stars on the shirt, they're there for no reason, after thirty years of hurrrrrt, we've been massive for 3 seasons"

That post sounded like a speech from a terrorist in a movie as to why he hates America. Same kind of logic to why he's thinking that way.

Everybody started the Premier Leaggue with the same opportunities. Norwich had a title challenge for fecks sake. It's nobodies fault but their own that they couldn't capatilise on it.

Absolutely there's a difference between being successful at the right time and buying success, which the thickos still can't quite grasp. Take a look at the league tables in the years leading up to 1992 and you'll see City above us in quite a few.

Great post to be fair.

No it's not. When you use a tragedy where footballers and members of the general public died as a stick to beat your rivals with and to point out how hard you've had it then any sympathy for the doldrums the club has been in for so many years is lost. Not that i'd have had much anyway. "Oh look at us, we've had to face United using Munich to boost their profile". Any need to mention it?

Whoever wrote that is a self indulgent moany twat.

Great chant that, doesn't this fit better to the tune though?

"Three stars on the shirt, not there for a reason, 30 years of hurt, massive for a season"

Are you talking about the City fan or the paragraph above?

Agreed, great post? feck off.

It's basically saying "well we've been shit, so I don't care we now have to financial dope to compete, despite using our poor history as an excuse for this I don't care we are fecking over other teams with poor history because we are more deserving as we are the only fans that have been there forever. Oh and munich"

It's pathetic, self serving, bitter nonsense. The second he mentioned us and what happened, he lost all reason anyway.

My local club once made the quarter-finals of the European Cup-Winners Cup; not long after, we were in administration & were selling everything - even the corner flags - at auction. Plus, it used to rain a lot in our rundown stadium, and us diehards often got soaked. Therefore, we deserve to inherit Steve Jobs' fortune, so we can spend it on Messi & some Brazilian players I saw doing keep-ups on Youtube.

Ps Hillsborough.

I myself deplore the absence of historical accuracy in Mr Drainy's song. He should resign immediately!
