Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

Bayern wouldn't want to risk it. Wouldn't Napolli top the group if they won and Bayern lost?

Their group is nicely poised. I think they will go through though. Winning at Villareal is easier said than done for Napoli and I can see City winning at home to Bayern

Wish it was on a different night to ours, it will be quite exciting

So basically everyone thought City would beat Napoli and lots of people now saying Napoli won't beat Villareal.

Do people watch enough Italian & Spanish football to be making predictions like that or are these just random stabs in the dark?

I certainly watch enough LA Liga to make predictions. On paper Villareal should be able to get something at home to Napoli. It doesnt mean they will though. Villareal are off to a terrible start to the season but will play this game without any pressure, Napoli have been dodgy too but will be under loads of pressure.

I predict a draw, so it will be in City's hands to beat Bayern

Villarreal's home form in La Liga is actually decent, only lost to the high-flying Levante and won their last two. They lost to City and Bayern, two very good sides, but had a massive amount of injuries, a situation which is slowly getting better. Napoli have won 2 of 5 away in Serie A. I'd say if you're basing it on league form it's not the worst prediction to make that Napoli will find it tough to win.

Lots of people are saying Bayern will throw it because they've won the group. But surely it's equally likely that Villareal will throw it because they are finishing bottom of the group? Sure, there's the idea that Villareal will not want to go out with 0 points, but if that's the case then I'm sure Bayern will have just as much commitment as them to get through the group undefeated and I'm sure they'd rather knock Man City out all together so they've gotten rid of one of the 'favourites' to win it and won't have to face them again later in the competition.

I really think City are out.

Considering the amount of cash City's owners toss around at players, what's to prevent them offering a large bribe to a match official?

Is that something that could happen?

Lets get some more quotes from Bluemoon back in here

I'm posting on my phone so can't be arsed to copy and paste, but they had a thread asking if they'd be allowed to opt out of the Europa league - first year in the big boys comp and they already think it's beneath them.

They are like a bunch of chavs crashing a silver service dinner.

Careful, we don't wanna get rawkish.

Villarreal have actually no interest in the Champions League this season, they've been really poor this season.

Get the job done, Napoli.

Who leads on head to heads between City and Napoli for in case they end up level on points? Because I think City will get at least a point from the Bayern game.

Napoli, they won 2-1 in Naples and drew in Manchester.

It wouldn't make any sense to do so. They can gather points in EL, which will help their seeding for the next years. The extra games might actually be good for them as well with their massive squad, so they can keep as many players as possible both sharp and happy.

correct, there has never been any corruption in football, led by the bastions of sport Fifa, naive to think otherwise.

Perhaps not, but remember Juvegate? Now that City are starting to really establish themselves as a top team, they surely wouldn't risk that kind of punishment and dishonour (in the eyes of potential transfer targets). They'd lose all of their top players the year before FFP kicks in. That *really* wouldn't be too clever, for the ake of progressing in the tournament this one year.

Has there been any news on there about Garry Cook lately...? ;)

He sent Bluemoon an email thanking them for their support and slagging off Liverpool's performance on Sunday...unfortunately, it went to RAWK and now Andy Carroll wants to give him a kicking.

Not getting past the group stages would be an interesting one for the FFP

Hi - Ric kindly allowed me to mention my new City quiz book on here last month. Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback.

Just wanted to update on progress. We published a United quiz at around the same time (written by a sadly deluded United fan) and both are available on the Kindle, (and the Kindle apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, PC and Mac at Amazon). The good news is that the City quiz is outselling the United one! If anyone has bought it, many thanks.

If anyone likes a quiz, here is the first section

No, teams just have the embedded mindset that they can't win before the game even kicks off so play with fear. It's all psychological, we're benefiting from the same thing in many games (see: Stoke's pathetic performance against us) but not under such annoying circumstances (as they are injury hit and vulnerable).

Fulham have got something from the game at Craven Cottage in at least three of the previous seasons. :wenger:
