But we weren't even in for Pogba this summer were we? Certainly doesn't seem that way from all the reports I read. Clubs have to pursue economic opportunities but it all has a slight, depressing tinge of colonialism about it. On the one hand of course it's good that people from around the world have the opportunity to follow anyone or anything they want to; on the other hand the 'anyone or anything' is usually fairly predictable, following the reach of former empires and spheres of influence. The effort 'we' are putting in is largely just taking advantage of what happened in the past.

Ah, feck. Asia excluding China was what I meant. My travelling experience is largely outside China, but I've been there one time albeit just in a shipyard. Didn't see too many United kits, maybe a few. I think in Asia China is the country where we haven't explored all the marketing opportunities yet, all the other Asian countries I have travelled to have had a lot of United fans. Also China is fecking huge and the marketing potential there is even greater than North America, I am sure Woody and co is on it.
I always assumed that city would be quite popular in China for the sole reason of Sun Jihai.
