Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

Let's just hope after next Sunday's PL games it has completely melted down

Good of the fans to do a lap around the players.

Luckily, they're weren't run over by the notorious City traffic as they did their morris dancing.

Should Joe Hart not be doing better for Girouds goal?
He has a free header inside City's 6 yard box, he really should be coming out for those.

Reading your previous post,it sounded like you have issue with negative football, now it looks like that doesnt bother you at all as long we win the league.I got this right or?
No - im saying that winning the league whilst scoring so few goals would be an absolute fecking miracle.

I did wonder about the Cech near-post goals too. Dunno if that's a bit harsh.

Has anyone in England finished a season as badly as that and still won the league? You'd think someone could capitalise on 4 points and 0 wins from their last 6 games.
In fairness, Juve who finished second only dropped 2 points in their last 7 games. Only so much more they could have done then.

Sampdoria, who finished 6 points behind Milan, had 2 wins, 3 draws and a loss in their last 6. 7 from 12.

I read he has conceded the most goals from outside the box with 10 scored against him.
He can't seem to get down quick enough. The KDB goal reminded me of the West Ham goal from the first day of the season.

Pretty sure in at least one of our seasons where we've won the title at an early date we've lost plenty of games after it. 1999-00 or 2000-01 perhaps?

Edit - 2000-01 we lost our last three (losing 4 and drawing 1 of the last 8). Not as bad, but still.

Odd, he's still had some great games with brilliant reflex saves. He aint done yet. Both City's finishes pinpoint today I guess. Still not sure about KdB one though. Didn't he more flap at crosses against West Ham in Aug?

I always thought a team would need 20 wins to get into the top four, but Spurs could be the ones to prove me wrong on that by finishing 2nd with 19 if they fail to beat Newcastle. Which is amazing really, a 50% win rate and finish runners up? Albeit with a large number of draws. I feel as though usually, you need just over a 50% win rate to finish 4th.

I'm hoping that we've caught West Ham at the right time, as they seem to have given up on the season a bit now for some reason. Odds are they will still finish top 7 and could make Europe if we finish 5th and win the FA Cup. That should be motivation for them to take points off of us, but we'll see which West Ham shows up, and which Man Utd for that matter.

It's hard to be optimistic this season as the team seems to let us down every time we have a chance, but we have three cup finals remaining and we really should win them all. It's finally in our own hands, even if they're not the safest. I hope we do it and LVG will still get a better send off than Pellegrini.

Do they actually have fans? I am shocked at how one can treat a manager who has taken the team to first CL semis.

And this is why you never announce mid-season that the manager will be sacked at end of season. Feel Heynckes should have done something similar, but he didn't have a lot of scope that year in messing up the BuLi. Pellegrini is a genius. Did enough to keep them in top 4 till season end, so he doesn't get sacked mid-season, but also kept scope to destroy their season!!!

If we somehow manage to string a couple of wins together how would citys finances cope with no cl football?
I am assuming the increase in PL money would go a long way towards rectifying any hole?
But surely they are going to crack out the proverbial war chest for pep and whilst there are players like toure, navas, nasri, mangala etc who would bring in some ok cash it will surely not be enough to find a big overhaul without city needing to dip in to their (owners) pockets?

Surely would be at least 50m hole to cover? I'm aware that the CL money is done by prizes for success, and something like £55m is the most you can earn while winning the thing but is there not a lot of money involved for TV rights? or does that all go towards UEFA?

I imagine they will be just fine, if they need to dip into the owners pockets they will cause FFP doesn't really matter unless you are in the CL and even then they can fudge the books if they have to.

With the greatest of ease. They'll get a great payoff for thsi years CL campaign, the owners will happily pour some in for Pep if needed, and with the likely outgoings they'll be able to massively cut their wage bill, like we did last year.

Nah, there's plenty of money in the TV rights, probably more than the prize money, last time we were in the final with Barca, we actually made more money than they did despite loosing.

I just read that Jesus Navas has played more PL games then any other City outfield player this season...

If ever a stat spoke volumes.

And the fact he's gone 2 seasons without a league goal (0 in 67) and about to be he's 3rd blank in 4 league seasons

Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini, addressing fans at the Etihad:"Not winning this game is not the way we wanted to finish the season. We want to qualify for next year’s Champions League.

"For me it's been three wonderful, unforgettable years. Thanks to the fans for all, I will never forget you. Don’t change, because this team needs you and I’m sure next year you will do well in all competitions.

"Thank you all, I will see you."

Was Pellegrini wumming?

Serie A, 93/94

1. Milan (C) 34 19 12 3 36 15 +21 50 Champions League Group stage
2. Juventus 34 17 13 4 58 25 +33 47 UEFA Cup
3. Sampdoria 34 18 8 8 64 39 +25 44 Cup Winners' Cup
4. Lazio 34 17 10 7 55 40 +15 44 UEFA Cup
5. Parma 34 17 7 10 50 35 +15 41 UEFA Cup
6. Napoli 34 12 12 10 41 35 +6 36 UEFA Cup
34 games per season in defensive league. Serie A quality was top notch back then. Look at how many points apart from 6th place (UEFA Cup) to the relegation zone in the full league table. This season was when 2 points per win rule still in effect. The game plan was focused more on not to lose than trying to win at all cost! Big difference.

Without context, Mou's Chelsea 04-05 league defensive record means nothing to this Milan. In reality, that Chelsea defensive record can trump this Milan record. That season, Chelsea has the most win record in a PL season with 38 games/team/season, while also holding the highest point tally record.

Passionless club. The club has been sleepwalking for the past 18 months. It's not a coincidence that is around the same time the Guardiola Rumours got intense.
It's like the whole club is waiting for something to happen.
