Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

Our city laughometer hasn't been this high for a long time.

If anyone fancies a laugh go and read their thread about the parade. The insecurity they have about their obviously nonsensical founding myth about Manchester is hysterical.

I think most at Bluemoon are actually secretly happy about Mancini's sacking despite all the love, gratitude and sympathy for him. They will no doubt be excited at the prospect of their next clubtrotting manager who will be given £200m pounds to assemble a new squad of mercenaries.

The few City fans I know are not happy about it. They dont want to be like Chelsea.

A good mate of mine is a City diehard and has been for 25 years. The one positive he has talked about amid all the criticism of the owners spending loads of money - specifically that they seemed to have some common sense in wanting to build something sustainable in the long term and have some stability - rather than have an owner acting on a whim. He said he's not going anymore after this, although I suspect that will pass.

And I'd be thrilled if Moyes had a boatload of cash to spend by the way. I suspect most fans of most other clubs would be as well.

Part of me finds it funny, and part of me just thinks "Why lie?". I mean, it's just self-comforting fiction to count towards some moral victory for them. They are convinced their parade was bigger, which I am about 99.9% certain it wasn't, by saying "I've seen bigger crowds at Asda". Then they pull all this nonsense out about "Well, they don't pay their Council Tax to the City Council, so they are not a Manchester team" or however they wish to word it, as if Manchester is purely the town center and nothing else. Is that where your priorities lie as a City supporter? Geographic location? You win, guys. Good job. Build a statue for consecutive Electoral Ward titles. Better get on the blower to Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs too. You're not from the City of London, so you're not a London team. Get out of London!

When the City Council condensed it's governance and delegated it's remit to surrounding boroughs in the 60's and 70's, it must've been like winning a trophy for them. Add another star to your badge. One more decade of the City Council.

Their chat is like an episode of the League of Gentlemen. A local club, for local people. We'll have none of your kind in here.

City fans are really starting to piss me off now , they posted a vid on Facebook about United fans setting fire to City scarf in front of the City store, for the record I think it was wrong and stupid, but they forget utube has a vid of there fans burning a United scarf and singing about Munich, fecking idiots.

I have a City 'mate' from School (by mate i mean facebook friend and i swear he was an Oldham fan at school), some of his ramblings are worse than anything you will see on Blue Moon.

The next time he posts some garbage i will add it here- todays was about how Mourinho will join City not Chelsea because City are the classier club.

Their parade thread is hilarious. Starts with them laughing about the rain and looking forward to a poor attendance, progresses to them claiming a conspiracy when hearing that the figures massively exceed theirs last year and finishes with a few of them begrudgingly admitting it was a huge turnout. You have to lead a pretty sad life to watch the whole United trophy parade as a City fan

It's hilarious that out of town fans is the stick the beat us with, of course it's their right, with their local club, for locals, filled with local lads like Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri, Aguero and company. Good Manchester stock, that.

Then of course, when foreign fans are seen at the wastelands, "of course, wide fan base mate, massive club, massive, have to have out of town fans, massive".

Founding myth?

Manchester City are the great local team, the real club of Manchester, based within the 'city limits'. The club with the true fans, which embodies blah blah blah blah etc.

Nobody ever thought that shite 40 years ago, it's a retrospective nonsense they invented when they were shit to try and make themselves 'better' than us. And now the whole thing is even more of an utter joke because they hitched their skirts for any passing autocrat and have become the most soulless, plastic, amoral football club on the planet. And they still don't have anywhere near as many fans in Manchester as we do.

I read, on another site, a quote from a City supporters' spokesman. He said that the sacking of Mancini was the lowest point in his 40 years as a City fan. fecking hell. I mean, what about relegation to the 3rd Division? Was that a high point or something? They really now how to self-paraody.

^"Traditionally, we don't like red as a colour-unless it forms part of a red and black striped away kit the team have worn periodically over the years" They really are stupid as well as deluded aren't they?

Ridiculous. The culture of entitlement City have somehow developed in the space of a couple of seasons is a joke, especially when taking into account their lowly position pre-takeover.

Do they still have the 'new' history section in which they draw attention to it with bright read lettering saying 'new'?

I found that funny as I interpreted as they didn't have any history until very recently when they went out and bought some

"Success means we'll be welcoming a new generation of City fans from England and all over the globe, too. When our new followers come on board, they'll be welcomed with open arms into our 'family'."

Ignoring how that must be like a dagger to the heart of any Blue, how's that working out for them and all those empty seats at the Etihad?

At least the dogs in the full City kit had the decency to be embarrassed.

Indeed. I lived in Manchester when we were shit, and even then no one would seriously claim there were more city fans.

Its come along since we've been monumentally successful , I dont even think it was around back in Sir Matts days to be honest, I was only young then and visited old trafford with my dad when he had the time to take us (we lived in the midlands then) but I don't really recall this sort of thing.

Back when the old man was a kid, they used to go to United one week and City the next, because they didnt have the transport to go to away matches.

Heh, just imagine United fans, walk outdoors on a lovely day, look up. "fecking bitter cnut blue sky, what kind of shit colour is that!"

"Nice day though!"

There was a brilliant thread on Bluemoon one time, where they discussed these times with Bluemoons "historian", and he pretty much said, "yeah, the clubs were friendly until United became more successful than us." Huge 'ol post on how United being the bigger team pissed them off. Then they wonder why they're called the bitters. More things change, the more they stay the same.

A poster on the parade thread commented that United's turn out was pretty impressive and was immediately outed as a 'rag' and was ordered (!) to piss off to rag cafe.

What an odd fecking bunch they are!

fecking weird. It seems like anyone who says anything remotely favourable to United gets "outed" in the way you've described. It's like a fecking great big online primary school playground.

When has being classy ever bothered Mourinho?

Isn't this what they criticise us for. Fans from all over the world who are bandwagon jumpers according to them.
