Well, hipsterish...I don't know. But, yeah, I maintain that he's hipsterish to an extent for the reason stated above: He's less obvious – and it's less obvious precisely what he brings to the table – than most other players who is likely to feature out wide, in any sort of capacity, in an all-time context.
Then again, one can certainly argue whether he's actually hipsterish in this particular context: As I said, most of us have to be classed as some kind of hipsters – so Nedved isn't a strikingly left-field choice to most of us.
Can you even make a hipsterish choice among other hipsters? That's the question. To me, hipsterism always depends on the context – which is highlighted by the fact that most hipsters deny being hipsters and consider hipsterism not hip.
But in a general context, yes – I'd call Nedved fairly hipsterish compared to most other players who won the Ballon. He's definitely the sort of player a hipster could play out as his favourite card, to the surprise and admiration (or annoyance) of his more uncouth peers.
