I thought your criticism of the wide players was strange to be fair. I can kind of understand Meazza in the sense that he played so long ago, but there's only a handful of players I'd even consider swapping for Gento on the left wing - less than five in fact.

I meant Meazza in terms of wide player mate, not Gento and generally the right side as compared to diarms right side. I do think Messi is a huge upgrade on Meazza and fits excellently your team, hence I thought you guys would go for him.

Not just my usual Fenomeno love though and wouldn't have considered him if I had some other top striker say Muller.

You know that you couldn't have played Romario and Ronaldo together, right? Or am I missing something here? I prefered Rijkaard over Ronaldo as our pick by the way, would have been happy if you picked Ronaldo.

Ronaldo didn't play at all in 1994, but according to the rules, that doesn't matter:

They didn't but again they didn't have to according to OP :)

But 97 was more easier to recall when they both led the attack and scored 10 goals or something.
