If Romario had held on another 8 picks after Cristiano, I was planning to pick him second and Henry 3rd. Then just pick loads of defenders with one good passer, sit back deep and launch the 3 boys on endless counter attacks.

I wanted Redondo to build a partnership in the middle around him, but missing on him and realizing that in attack with MvB, Ronaldo and Romario there's no other choice for a striker with the same class(fast striker to fit in this formation, not target man), it wasn't that hard of a choice.

If you look at the pool left I can't think of another fast striker as good as Henry. Romario was also perfect for that role, but no way he'd been available in the 4th round

I wasn't referring to anyone Pillow, unless you mean trying to guess the two players you were talking about. You've been the one driving this discussion.

They are two different players with different styles, but given that you're asking the question then yes me and Invictus both preferred Redondo to Bozsik hence why we picked him first. There isn't much in it though and I think Redondo fit the team better - both are fantastic players.

I agree with you mate.

I think everyone will rate his own players higher than everybody else. For me for a all time draft that has no restrictions there are about 10 names that really stand out of the pack.

Apart of that it's a question of who will fit in the system and how those 11 individuals will gel together and if it will work.

Otherwise we can't be sure who is better, Bozsik, Hanegem, Falcao or Redondo. It's all down to preference. For me it's Redondo, Falcao,Bozsik, Hanegem. For some might be the other way around.

There is plenty of quality players and there will even in pick 10 and 11.

Question is how it will fit in the system that you would use them.

For me Figo, Redondo and Henry were probably the best possible choices with Cruyff in the team. The rest of Henry's quality are target men and won't fit in, as for the right flank it's down to three - C.Ronaldo, Figo and Garrincha. While Ronaldo is probably not the best on that flank Figo is IMO better fit and Garrincha was gone first round. But who is better...again its down to personal preference. If either of those wingers are at the peak of their game I'm liking their chance against any full back, but three of them are quite different and offer different qualities to the team.

And there is the other thing of course. I knew Bozsik and had him down in my list as a potential option even with Redondo gone, but I really don't know enough of him and never even saw footage of him to know if he'll fit into the system. Same goes for Masopust.
