Best 10 players in the world atm?

He can beat a man consistently. He has chosen to be more efficient in his attacking. He has plenty of finesse and imagination, he just channels his game into hurting the opposition, which very often means cutting down on the tricks. If Robben had been able to do the same, he would be a more complete player. Robben, Suarez and Aguero simply could not achieve what he has done so there is no way their top level is higher.

Ronaldhinio definitely had a higher top level.

I kinda know what you mean, but I still disagree. It comes down to a terminology thing at this point, but in the end Ronaldinho could not hold a candle to Ronaldo when it comes to hurting the opposition and that's really what the game comes down to. That's surely what top level really means.

Ronaldinho is certainly one of the most technically skilled players I have ever seen.

Because it happened? Ronaldhinio could do everything. Score, beat 5 men, play the perfect pass noone even thought possible.

Could he score more than a goal a game for season after season in one of the top leagues in the world?

I think you're talking about some measure of 'pure ability' but you can't really assess that, because if a player (for example) actively cuts down on fancy, showy stuff in order to score more, or assist more, that shows him maturing as a player, and to me, means his 'level' is higher.

Couldn't hold a candle? He was better at it.

What he lacked was the brutal consistency that makes Ronaldo's career better.

Ronaldhinio's peak level was higher than Ronaldo's.

Firstly, everything isn't down to goals. Ronaldhinio hurt you in other ways. He was a playmaker as well as a goal getter.

Secondly, he did score a lot of goals, but if I'm not mistaken when he played he wasn't in a super team like Messi/Ronaldo that was as dominant in that sense. But yes, he wasn't as good a goalscorer.

Ronaldo's career is no doubt better due to his dedication and consistency. But if there was a CL semi final tomorrow I'd rather have a peak Ronaldhinio than peak Ronaldo in my team, which is what I assume @Kevin is talking about.

Which season of his surpassed Ronaldo's greatest?
Read my previous post. I'm not talking about seasons or goalscoring records, because I don't think that's what Kevin meant.

Rather if your team plays Barcelona/Madrid in a CL semi final, I'd rather have Ronaldhinio in my team who can score, beat 5, run the game and play the perfect through pass. He was basically capable of more. It just didn't last that long for him to be considered as good.

Running the game, beating 3/4/5 defenders, orchestrating play and contributing to the buildup isn't "fancy, showy stuff".

His Ballon d'Or season was the best individual peak I've seen from a player I feel (Dinho). Thought he'd go on to dominate world football for half a decade after that, but he couldn't be arsed.

Ronaldinho is the most enjoyable player I've seen, just incredible to watch from 04-07. Not sure he justifies being mentioned alongside Ronaldo though. More pleasing to watch? Yes. More influential at his best? Hard to say he is.

Yes.

And I would disagree with you both.

(though obviously both would be nice...)

So fans boo their players because they are playing badly and they think booing is going to help? There's no excuse to boo any player when their not on form especially a player that scored the winners in both the Copa Del Ray and their first Champions League in over a decade, winning them the famous La Decima. He also doesn't speak the language, but he's learning and you can see he is clearly trying to be a success which should be applauded. And even then, he wasn't that bad last season, these fans boo anyone, even Ronaldo sometimes - it's absurd.

I'd probably boo a player who acted so lazily, like a self entitled brat. He thought he was above the team.

Don't see how can you call Bale lazy. The reasons I posted previously are the reasons why he's not lazy.

What - Bale isn't lazy because he can barely speak Spanish after over 2 years in Spain? Err, okay mate.

People learn at different rates, the main thing is he is trying. And the other thing is while he is in the shadow of Ronaldo he is still contributing to the team with his goals and assists.

Jesus Christ, how many languages can you speak?

One. I couldn't really give a feck how many languages Bale speaks, I'm saying that a foreign player learning the local language doesn't mean anything. It's expected. The laziness I'm talking about is his on-the-pitch effort.

Too many attackers!

Messi
Ronaldo
Robben
Suarez
Neuer
Busquets
Modric
Neymar
Verratti
De Gea

Robben is never healthy, so maybe Silva or James in place of him if you are taking that into account.
