That has nothing to do with them being attacking or defending, as Jose will definitely bring attacking players as well.

I meant (highlighted) style of play. Nothing to do with Silva

They have G. Jesus, Aguero, Sterling, Sane, De Bruyne, Silva and Nolito. They should be investing that money in their back 5. Weird...

Not only do Prem Teams have tonnes of cash to spend...they are also fighting each other for the signatures so expect lots of deals done early this window.

It looks incredibly likely that we'll sign a much better attacker in Griezmann. We'll be just fine like.

Griezmann is one of the World's best players, but you're kidding yourself if you think even he alone is enough to sort out the shambles that is our attack. Players like Silva don't come around too often, no-one in our squad has the composure he possesses.

Whatever though, it's done, no point sooking about it.

Ouch. He was the one I really wanted too.

Gotta let the manager manage though. I assume if he was for sale and we were both heavily in for him he'd more than likely have chosen us (wouldn't he?)

We can't sign everyone. We need to build a Jose team over a few years and greiz seems like the major transfer this year. City doing some crazy business already though.

City seemingly have no problem spending loads of money every summer. That FFP has turned out to be a real success.

So what are you saying? That FFP was specifically brought in to stop City joining the elite clubs?

The irony of a Chelsea fan of all people crying about City's spending never fails to amuse me and you're the biggest culprit of the lot by far with your sanctimonious bile and complete and utter lack of self-awareness. Keep sucking on them lemons mate:lol:

Well said.

You're not suggesting he's anywhere near Ronaldo, are you?

Ronnie was 19 as well with enormous potential. I'm not sure Silva will go to another level

Well, in portugal is seen like the future top player of our national team in par with gelson martins and renato sanchez. And technichally he is better than anyone of the others. (but not has fast has them and not so powerfull has sanchez)

Like i stated earlier, he's not equal to Ronaldo but i see a figo in there.

(sorry, i cant answer anymore. still a newbie :( )

He was a target, but probably as a second or third option. Maybe he was second option behind Griezmann or some other winger, but City made a move faster and got him while we are chasing the more important target for Jose. Otherwise Jose could have just said we arent interested in him and have other players we want. He left the door open, even though with pessimistic or no hope to get him.

He's shite, a total waste of space and just proves that we're going after the wrong people. We should be going after Barbosa, Brandt and Guedes. Oh wait, City are going to get him...

*initiate Muppet Protocol #2*

What the hell is Mourinho thinking? We should be going all out for this guy. Now City are going to walk the league and we'll be stuck with some crap like Valencia or Martial.

Gentlemen may I present to you.. a meltdown.

Jose gives. If he didn't put Silva on his priority targets list then he wasn't very keen on him.

We won't prevent the opponents from getting great players. That's not one team league.

Yeah we have been playing second fiddle since hazard transfer to chelsea, as bitter as it sounds its true. Why would you let others take the lead when that other player can improve you and then we have seen what has happened to us since then.

As usual the reaction on here ranges between two extremes!

Looks a great player but does he improve City? Where will he fit? Their problems this year have been at DM, the back 4 and the GK. Happy for them to spend another £50m on another tippy tappy ten

Expect more good players to go to City this summer though. Its an arms race!

if theyre paying 70 for silva and 45-50 for mendy, thats ridiculous. Monaco laughing to the bank.

Annoys me none of their fans watched them before CL and wanking themslves silly

I think he does improve City. He's better than Sterling.

I think we were interested in him but City have got there first. Another thing that may have played a part in this is the situation upfront for us. Rooney looks likely to leave, Ibrahimovic is injured and I think he's said he won't renew, so we've had to look at bringing in another ST/CF as well as Griezmann, hence the Belotti links.

The reaction of people here, they might as well have signed Messi.

Until and unless Pep signs a class defense (yes, a whole one), not worried one bit about them.
I agree. The only player I'd be upset with us not getting is Griezmann, for everything else there's MasterCard alternatives.

If the manager doesn't want him, the manager doesn't want him. He wouldn't improve us unless Mourinho has specifically targeted him.

If we are going to meltdown on every great signing an opponent makes this summer will be a series of meltdowns.

We should accept that Chelsea and City will spend a fortune this summer as well as us.

Mohamed Bouhafsi: Bernardo Silva signs for Manchester City. €70m, 5 year deal

Hefty price then. Have to see whether it's with addons or not, I'm guess not.

Where would he play in City's starting 11? It feels like they have too many wingers/outside mids with Silva, KDB, Sane, Sterling.

They'll have to shoehorn him in there.

I wonder if the same people who are crying over this will say buying Griezmann for 100 mil would be too expensive. Wouldn't surprise me.

I can understand why younger players make this intermediate step, but when I look at a team like United and you tell me they can´t guarantee somebody like Tielemans 40 games a season immediately? Now he goes to Monaco for €25M and in two years they´ll sell him to somebody for €60M. Sometimes it seems that getting a bargain is not cool anymore. It´s t like only the transfer fee defines the class of the player.

This shows we need to move fast or else we will be left behind.
Yes, we should definitley consider implementing City's revolutionary "get knocked out every cup competition early so we have more time to finalise transfers come May" strategy next season.

Feck no, if we lose out on Griezmann we're looking at a disaster now. Absolutely no chance we can let him off the hook now. Our attack is fecking shite and one of a very small sample of top available players is already off to our rivals.

If we do get Griezmann we'll still be set, still think we need another attacker though.

I think he does improve City. He's better than Sterling.

Not a winger though is he? I would have thought he is competing with De Bruyne and David Silva for a spot. Not Sane and Sterling. Also consider they may play both Aguero and Jesus next year.
