Had my eye on him for a while now, an excellent excellent talent and someone we should absolutely go in for, we would really really regret it if another club went and got him in the premier league.

He will be a huge huge player in a few years and has exceptional technical ability and would instantly improve the squad, him and Griezman would make us unbelievable in attack.

Me and a couple of mates watched him in a youth tournament a couple of years back and he was an obvious stand out player, I hope we get him.

Though I remember him being able to accommodate one of the wings - his long term position might be to play alongside Pogba instead of Herrera.

Between the second half of last season and the first half of this season the swtich has flipped with him, he's gone from having bursts of form that show is potential to being a consistent top class performer in arguably the most exciting attack in Europe.

@JPRouve is spot on, the coparisons with Mata are lazy and reveal someone that doesn't actually watch him, he's much closer to Silva but with more dribbling.

Not sure where we'd fit him in though, if the Griezmann story is true. He's quality though and will end up at a top team.

Nothing wrong with having 4 world class options in free flowing front 3 once Zlatan is gone, this guy is only 22 too. PL is getting more demanding every year and we'll haev CL too. Jose already showed signs of somewhat moving away from his cemented first 11 philosophy and wanting an extra option or two for some positions. PL changed so much in the last 10 years, even in the last 5 years. So much more money involved in all teams, so much more demanding and competitive...If you play more than PL and your quality drops beyond your first 11 you can't compete. I wouldn't mind him at all here :).

That's hardly guaranteed though, is it?

I've got to admit I'd love to see him here looks like a very good player and with a similar play style to David Silva i don't think we have a player like this in our current team.

Sky sports have done a profile on him he is represented by Jorge Mendes the same afen as Mourinho and can play LM, CAM, and RM so could replace Rooney/Lingard in those roles.

Buy all the players. :wenger:
If stories are believed then Mourinho wants to change United over the next 2 summer windows and that could involve Jese Lingard and Wayne Rooney leaving.

So if we did buy Griezmann and B.Silva then we would have 6 players to occupy 3 positions... thats 2 per position a backup in every slot and the best bit is most of them can rotate across those 3 positions that is incredible strength in depth for our attacking line.

I know that people will discuss about his stats and the fact that he doesn't score or assist. In that regard, he is exactly like Iniesta for some weird reasons he is crucial in almost every attacking opportunities but rarely makes assists or scores goals, for the goals it's understandable because despite pretty good kicking abilities he always chooses to pass when the chances are slim.

For once they might be close to the truth, he is widely seen as the best player in the league.
Just look at the story above the Silva one about Mourinho. It doesn't matter if it's true or not. If they're the main source you wait for anoteher report from somewhere else.

I'm talking about the price not their source.

Exactly, it showed against Liverpool when our first options in attack off the bench were Rooney and Fellaini, and if you dig a bit deeper it is Lingard and Young. Jose rotates and subs the wide attackers and #10 position more than any other, so having an option like Silva to replace Memphis and Young in the squad would be great.

Almost completely agree, i think it's Rooney's last season here and he could well be a replacement for him.

They do, to highlight it Monaco has scored more goals at this point of the season than any other team did last season at the exception of Lyon and PSG. They are currently at 60 goals in 20 games while Paris and Lyon respectively scored 102 and 67 goals in 38 games.

So Lyon had more than 60 goals by 20 games last season and only ended up with 67 out of 38?!

This guy is mainly a RW \ AM right? Probably either him or the Griez then, not both.

If the price is remotely true then we might as well opt for the Griez.

I expressed myself poorly, Monaco has scored more goals than any other team did during the entirety of last season, at the exception of Lyon and Paris.

Last year after 20 games Lyon had 27 goals while Monaco currently have 60 goals.

They are completely different players and could play together without problem.

Ah, thanks.

Hopefully Monaco deal with City next month. Put the final nail in them and send their top 4 bid spiralling at the same time.

Where would Bernardo Silva fit in at MUFC?

Give me those imaginary lineups
Ibra
Martial Silva
Pogba Herrera Miki
Back 5
Basically this. Or switch him and Miki. He's class but getting him would make Mata kind of pointless and make Herrera more of a rotation player rather then a starter .

Yeah but that is totally changing our formation and putting him where Griezmann could play, he really should be something to warrant such treatment.

As a Benfica supporter that has followed Bernardo since he was part of our youth teams I can say with absolute certainty that he is the most talented player we have developed since Rui Costa.
It's a shame our former coach never gave him a real chance at the main squad. He only had a couple appearances at mostly at left back, I kid you not. Our coach really was that blind.
From there he was loaned to Monaco with a 15 million euros buy out clause and the rest is history.

I can't post media in here but if you Google: Bernardo Silva vs Olympique de Marseille there's a 5 minute youtube vídeo with the highlights of his last match that should give you na ideia of what kind of player he is.

This one?

He really does look like a great player. Question marks about where you'd fit him but you just know if another big club swoop in for him he'd be bloody excellent and we'd be ruing our chance on missing out.

It's not really changing our formation, we still use a 4-3-3 with 2 wide players who drift inwards a lot and don't really hug the touchline. In that sense, he slots right in, and then Griezmann would replace Ibra eventually if we got both, but there's no chance we get both. Definitely a one or the other case, or replacing someone else if they were sold. Saying that, I'm like 90% sure we'll sign Griezmann, so this is just made up rumors. Class player, but not the type I can ever see Mourinho getting especially in our current squad.

Agreed, i really think Rooney will be gone this summer vacating his No.10 shirt and paving the way for him though. We need a strong squad and he certainly adds a dimension we currently dont have i dont think Griezmanns transfer interferes with this either.

Monaco are really stacked in terms of young talent. Silva, Lemar, Mbappé and Fabinho have all looked great from what I've seen of them this season and it makes them very entertaining to watch.

I certainly wouldn't complain if there was genuine interest in Bernardo Silva but it does seem like more of a vanity signing than anything, especially if we retain an interest in other forward players like Griezmann. I'm not sure what it would mean for some of our other creative players like Mata and Mkhitaryan.

Yeah, I could see him be a difference maker for a team like Arsenal but I can't see Arsène spend money.
