Silva has played on the right this season. Griezmann has played up top for France and behind the striker for Atleti. Silva isn't a convential playmaker playing on the wing either, he's capable of staying out wide and running down the line, doesn't always look to come inside.

He's exquisite, we should do everything in our power to make sure he's a United player next season, he's that good. He'd take Mata's place in the starting 11 but I doubt he'd have much of an effect on Mkhitaryan's position. He'd bring our attack up a level, he's incredibly clever too, he's capable of making the passes only Pogba is capable of doing in our current team. Griezmann's the bigger name but Silva will be our most important signing IMO. He'll take us up a level, I'd bet my life on it. Never been so excited at the prospect of us signing someone.

If this season is anything to go by, Jose prefers Rashford as the striker. It seems he might be willing to trust Martial on the left for another season, since we haven't really been linked with any proper wingers.
True. But you know what I mean, a midfielder that's going to give us more protection. In a 3 man midfield, assuming Pogba and Silva start, who would be the third? Unless Herrera is converted to that role or TFM steps up considerably it would probably need to be another signing.

Man United should also scout some of Monoco's academy and lower level french clubs . The more Monaco sell the better they replace him with.
He's a different player to Mata. Mata constantly drifts inside, Silva is capable of staying out wide and beating players down the line. Also Silva is up there with the best when it comes to dribbling and ball retention, whilst Mata is more about movement and scoring goals.

In a dream scenario we would have a seriously strenghtend defence behind them aswell but it is less of a priority as our main problems are now improving our attack and replacing Carrick from that midfield.

In that case is he really £70m worth of improvement over Mkhi/Mata? Certainly has a lot more years left in him.
Personally I would love to see us go with two strikers next season, in which case he could probably operate at the tip of a diamond.

The diamond will never happen. It wouldn't function very well in the Premier League. Anyway, I expect it's a case of Griezmann OR Silva.
We Played majority of games in a diamond in 2013 with saf and won the title, worked pretty well. Lots of creative players could make a pretty fluid system not a rigid diamond.
