He may have no choice. Join City, becaue they are prepared to match Spurs extortionate asking price and therefore the only bid that Spurs will entertain, or stay at WHL and face the wrath of the fans and the cold shoulder from his colleagues. United may have to come up with more money plus a makeweight or call a halt and make a last minute pitch for Huntelaar. Rather than being held to ransom and dragged to the brink by Spurs perhaps they really should have been negotiating with Ajax during these past couple of weeks.

According to Sky Sports reporter, Hughes has said that their bid has been accepted and he is meeting up with the player to try and persuade him to join
 
I just hope United don't get caught up in a tizzy like us and end up paying over £30m for him. That would be silly money.
