What an understatement.
We have been dud for not paying that extra amount to seal the deal but it's still his lost, shows his ambitions IF he does join city.
What an understatement.

your wrong...he only wants to leave spurs to play in the champions league football and to win medals. He will either go to United or stay at spurs and it's looking likely United.
You make it sound all so simple as if he'll stroll into the dressing room act as everything is like normal and all the players will have a wank together.
If they offer him more money he may be tempted aswell, you really are making yourself sound a tiny bit silly. no offence.
City bid over 30 mil
We won't pay that
Levy will sell to City just to piss us off
Bye bye Berbatov
(Shame City can't offer him European football)

Manchester City set to sign Dimitar Berbatov on dramatic transfer deadline day
With just hours left before the transfer window closes, Manchester City have launched a bid in excess of £30 million to hijack Dimitar Berbatov's expected move to local rivals United on the day the club is taken over by an Abu Dhabi investment group.

In the longest drawn out transfer saga of the summer, Berbatov was widely believed to be moving to Manchester United before City's late intervention.
However, differences over the value of the player between Sir Alex Ferguson and the Tottenham hierarchy held up the deal, allowing City to enter the process with an audacious offer.
Earlier in the day City owner Thaksin Shinawatra agreed to sell a major share of his stake in the club to Arab investors, the Abu Dhabi United group (ADUG).
Following talks over the weekend, it is understood that an agreement in principle was reached between representatives of the former Thai Prime Minister and ADUG late on Sunday night.
The Arab investors now have two weeks to analyse City's accounts before finalising the deal.
The negotiations between Thaksin and ADUG have been fronted by Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, the chief executive of a company called Hydra Properties, and he is expected to take a leading role on the City board once the deal is complete.
Al Fahim said: "Our goal is very simple - to make Manchester City the biggest club in the Premier League and to begin with to finish in the top four this season.
"We will adopt marketing plans that reflect positively on the club and the company from investments in all sectors of television marketing and purchasing of the star players, as well as development of infrastructure facilities at the club."
"By engaging into sport's investment, Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment aims to reinforce Abu Dhabi's position as a capital of both sport and economic (development), through...supporting the Emirate's sports and attracting the world's attention to UAE through this purchase of one of the oldest English clubs.
"The company believes this step will open new horizons for the talented and gifted nationals...to develop their skills."
"We in Abu Dhabi United Company for Development and Investment aim to provide support and care for various sports activities to help build and develop a new generation...which represents the real wealth and the future of this nation and the cornerstone for building the future of our civilisation."
The statement also said that Al-Fahim had pledged to "solve all the club problems and clear any pending payments, and will comprehensively support the club by bringing the best football players in the world" to Eastlands.
City were expected to invest heavily before the end of the transfer window even before the intervention of ADUG, however their involvement appears to have bolstered Mark Hughes' transfer funds to such a degree that a player of Berbatov's standing has come within their reach.
Michael Owen and Didier Drogba, too, have been linked with moves to Eastlands as the strength of City's bargaining powers have been revealed.
Selling the Bulgarian to City would be more palatable to Tottenham than seeing Berbatov join United, whom the London club reported to the FA over the manner of their pursuit of the striker this summer.
City are also likely to comfortably meet the asking price of £30 million.
