I tell you what. He's got to leave Spurs as he has burned his bridges there. If United don't budge he may just join City to get away. I also doubt they would have bod without some encouragement.

Some City-supporting MEN journo is laughing his bollox off at this whole palaver. They broke the story and SSN have been running with it, because it makes such a great story.

But it literally makes no sense whatsoever.

United wanted to sell Ruud to Bayern (to help get Hargreaves) but Ruud only wanted Madrid.
United wanted to sell Becks to Barca but Becks only wanted Madrid.

Barca wanted to sell Ronaldinho to City (far more money) but Ronalddinho only
wanted AC Milan.

At the end of the day the player always seems to get what he wants.
 
Don't forget Man City had also bid £10mill more than what AC Milan paid for Ronaldinho, it comes down to the player as well.

A voice of reason, finally.

Far too much FM logic going on here. It might seem like it sometimes but footballers really aren't commodities, that can be bought and sold to the highest bidder.

The City link is a complete red herring. The only update that could affect this saga would be some news on Spurs signing a striker.

Also if United didn't agree with spurs, believe me spurs won't have a problem keeping him. It's not like spurs have a squad full of berbatovs

haha i agree with you mate, i'm just saying, stranger things have happened.

Anyway if he signs for city i'm selling my season ticket and going watching FC United... It'll be the last nail in the coffin for me as far as premier league footy is concerned.
 
Then I don't really see the threat from City if Berba can reject the offer. It's just like the Ronaldinho situation, they were always in the race and were apparently 'favourites' to sign him, but despite all that..he went to Milan as predicted even for a huge cut in wage, City are not a big club (despite what they believe) and it doesn't seem like it's about money that Berba is after, he wants to play on the biggest of stages he feels he deserves and City can certainly not offer that. Adding to that, Berba's ego seems pretty high and as many top class players feel about these mid-table clubs time that bid a ridiculous amount for them (i.e. Spurs for Eto'o), they are not good enough for them.

The only problem I see now is that the deadline might force issues out of hand, but I remain confident he'll sign for us.

Excuse me but are you thick.

If city table a 35 million pound bid or around that for berbatov and we don't sign him, would you think levy would rather keep him at tottenham causing disruption or sell him.

Berbatov is forcing a bid to move right now, he won't stay no matter what.
