who is this guy Andy Garcia?
Have a feeling that Spurs will reject £25 million. I hope not but i think we'll probably have to meet them in the middle and go to £27.5 million or something like that.

Nani: "Tottenham are not a big club" hahahahhahahhaha form 07
I think Ramos will be telling levy to cut the bullshit(in less harsh words of course) and accept any reasonable offer for Berbatov as he clearly isn't going to be an option for tottenham and they have to get on with replacing him ASAP.
barry was sent home from training and fined but is still playing for villa
MoN set a price and didnt accept anything less
i hope our bid, if any , gets accepted but berbatov will get back into the first team if spuds can keep him till the window closes
he is going into the jungle, not OT.

"he's just coming thru the Chiswick roundabout"
or was that Roger Moore?
I dont think this is true, i think they are still in control because if he didnt get his transfer he would be left with no other option but to play for tottenham, there would be nothing he could do so he would have to try to play well, in a couple of months he would have put it behind him and be playing alright again, i dont think berba would want to stagnate and not be playing, he would put aside his personal ambitions to be in the starting line up because im sure there is nothing he hates more than not playing.
We should give them 27 million take it or leave it now.
Im about 70-30 in favour of us getting him now

They are not as comfortable as you think. They have a missfiring front line that looks like even with berbatov it requires at least one more striker. They have a CM that looks badly in need of an actual DM, and they have too new precocious players young players in Modric and Dos santos who are not going to benefit from being around a player who is clearly not commited to the club.
I don't think Berbatov has ever been a Ramos type of player as Juande seems to prefer speedier strikers and I think they should take the 25 mil that we've offered and buy Milito or Forlan. and spend whatevers left over on a proper DM.

Speaking on the eve of Manchester United's clash with Newcastle, Sir Alex Ferguson hinted United would land a striker within the next 48 hours, a week down the line, the United faithful anxiously await a new arrival at Old Trafford.
It appears that despite agreeing "in principle" a fee for Dimitar Berbatov on Tuesday, Spurs went back on their word as Daniel Levy told Manchester United that the deal was off again.
Caught in no man's land, the Red Devils made an approach to Spurs, hoping to seal the deal for a £28 million deal for the Bulgarian by Friday. However, Spurs have not responded to Manchester United's approach which has meant that despite keeping Dimitar Berbatov has his prime target, Sir Alex Ferguson has once again decided to look elsewhere for options and one name that has popped up again is Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
The Ajax striker who earlier indicated his desire to move to the Red Devils saying he deemed them as his "dream club" is apparently now being tracked by Ferguson.
An official at Ajax, Veaski Bujovin has revealed that the Red Devils have made an approach for the Dutch hotshot.
"Yes, I can confirm, there has been an approach but no official bid yet."
"The club will assess it's own squad in the next two days and then we will think of our response."
However, a source at Old Trafford reveals the Red Devils will only look elsewhere if they fail with their second bid for Dimitar Berbatov—which according to reports hasn't been launched yet..
Well, United like Everton don't look any closer to adding to their squad but Owen Hargreaves and Park Ji Sung have returned to training.

Jesus Christ this is like a game of table tennis!
The media seem to be going backwards then forwards, backwards then forwards, backwards then...
its because they dont really have a clue whats happeining, they are just guessing.
Im sure that if we miss out on berbatov we will look elsewhere in the shortspace of time we have, and hunterlaar is another option
Yeah I'd imagine there's a plan B alright, although it wouldn't surprise me one bit if United were content to continue on with the squad they currently have. Fair enough we were fortunate enough last season that things went pretty well with injuries and results, but bringing nobody in allows us to take on this new campaign with a double winning squad
but we are missing ronaldo till novermber, i think this will be a big problem unless we bring someone else in who will socre and make goals (berba)
And when i say problem, i dont tyhink it will be huge, i just think it will mean us losing a few valuable points on chelsea, because they are looking good and dont look likie dropping many points

Where's this shit coming from? I don't see any reports in the media with these quotes from Ajax that United have made an approach for Huntelaar. Is this website just full of lies that The Sun would be embarassed to print?
End of September actually, but if you choose to believe Custis it's November I guess.but we are missing ronaldo till novermber, i think this will be a big problem unless we bring someone else in who will socre and make goals (berba)

Interesting fact, if you search this thread for the word 'cock' you get 100 matches.
Going by the quotes in that article I'd say this is all but a done deal...http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,1778_4041072,00.html
Berbatov on brink of United switch
Dimitar Berbatov's move to Manchester United should go ahead this week as Tottenham prepare to cash in on a player they know wants to leave.
The 27-year-old has handed in a transfer request to Spurs and wants to join United, with his departure appearing inevitable after head coach Juande Ramos deemed him unfocused to face Sunderland.
Ramos also feared Berbatov was having a negative effect on the dressing room, which suggests there may be no way back for the Bulgaria international who was signed two seasons ago for £10.9million from Bayer Leverkusen.
Spurs would be expected to receive more than double that amount but there has been no official bid since a £20.5million offer was turned down earlier this month.
It is understood the clubs are working towards closing a £10million gap in their respective valuations of the player, whose departure would leave Ramos with one out-and-out striker.
Jermain Defoe was sold to Portsmouth at the start of the year and Robbie Keane left for Liverpool this summer, and Spurs would ideally want to bring in a striker before allowing Berbatov to leave.
Zenit St Petersburg's Andrei Arshavin has been consistently linked, while Wigan's Emile Heskey has been reported this weekend as a potential target.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was furious when Keane and Berbatov made it clear they wanted to leave White Hart Lane and filed an official complaint with the Premier League.
Spurs dropped the complaint against Liverpool when they signed Keane and made a donation to charity, and United may expect the same treatment if a deal is struck for Berbatov.
Berbatov, meanwhile, could be fined for not being in the right state of mind to play against Sunderland, who took full advantage and defeated Spurs 2-1.
