Im abit sceptical about the price tag but knowing Liverpool paid £20 million for a 28 year old Robbie Keane makes me feel alot better. I think were going to have to get used to paying huge amounts for players in todays market.

This has long since happened

Just like they mugged us with Carrick.

I've asked myself kind of the same question: We paid them a more than reasonably fee for Carrick. Where are the goodwill in the Berbatov-negotiations?

You can't really blame them for having no need to sell and playing waiting games to get a maximum fee.

But the way they've handled it so far really pisses me off and I hope this is the last time we have to do business with Spurs.

Who wants to deal with a counterpart that tends to use unverified quotes in the tabloids against you?

Anyway I agree with those who says we have to meet their asking price just to get this over with. 28 or 32 million or whatever it is doesn't really matter. The club has to accept that Tottenham holds all the cards and if they wasn't to resolve this everlasting saga they have to swallow some pride. Hopefully they will or already have.

Berbatov is now 3/1 at Betfair to stay and 1/9 to leave.

All the main money is coming for him to leave at present.

3/1 is a very good bet. He will be starting for Spurs against Boro I'm 100% sure of that. Odds will crash on Saturday

We should have signed Amauri. Juventus got a fecking bargain

He's 28, is reliant on pace and strength and has a less than average goals to game ratio over his career. He's nowhere near as good as Berbatov.

He's Brazilian. That make Lucas better than most midfielders in the world according to scouse fans

He's such an average player, which is surprising since he came with a fair bit of hype. Just seems like a hard-working midfielder with very little to his game.

I've never actually heard a Liverpool fans' opinion of him though. If he played for us, I wouldn't be too impressed by him and would have him way down in our midfield pecking order.

I'm very surprised he survived his first season, considering how Benitez' buy players only to sell them a year down the line. His one moment of fame was his goal against the Firemen and Bakers FC in the cup.

I wanted Amauri a few years back. No doubt he's a quality player, but he's not among the very best strikers in the world like Berbatov.
