Ben Chilwell to Chelsea

They're not signing Oblak

More likely Rice and Chillwell and a cheaper keeper

I know it'll be nice to sign Rice. However, why are they in desperation to sign him in the first place now when they already have 4 options in midfield (Kovacic, Jorginho, Gilmour & Kante)?

Apparently to play CB....
Also pretty sure Jorginho will be sold

I'll be shocking if that's the idea. Never impress me when he played a centre back.

Who's going to buy Jorginho? I thought he did well this season, better than Kante this season.

Someone in Italy. After his return from injury post lockdown Jorginho hardly got a game until Kante picked up an injury. The rumours are that he is on his way out

It's quite insane how far his stock has fallen - 7-8 months ago people would balk at the asking price, but most would agree that he's a top LB who would improve the team.

Now Chelsea/United fans would prefer to just keep Alonso/Shaw as the gap is seen as non-existent or at best, negligent.

Yeah, he is good LB but the combination of asking fee and quality means its not worth it.

Agreed re: Rice, but reports are Lampard sees him as a CB going forward.

Jorginho is probably going to go to Juventus. There happens to be a manager there who fancies him a bit.

We bought Shaw for 30M, didn't we? Looking at it now, it's a bargain when Chilwell is going to go for 70-80M odd

If they bought Harvertz, then GK and CB will be next priorities for them or they would end up like Arsenal.

Why would they bought another LB when they had 2 decent one?
Do Lampard wants to change 70% of his starting XI like Mourinho did in 2004?

Oblak, Rudiger, Koulibailly, Azpillcueta, Chilwell, Kante, Jorginho, Havertz, Ziyech, Pulisic, Werner

Jesus Christ. That will take some stopping.

I know they've got a lot of money, but I they will not spend that much. Chilwell has been quoted at £80m, Oblak at 150m Euros, Koulibaly at 70m Euros and thats not even taking into consideration Werner and Havertz.

Oblak has a release clause of €109m and Chillwell has been quoted at £50m and will go for that especially now with no CL league and the player will be pushing for a move. I personally hope we stay away from Chilwell.

Hearing that Ben has said his goodbyes, cleared out his locker etc so assume this is happening.

How are they spending this much money! They might actually go for the title at this rate. Remains to be seen how they'll gel together I guess.

Don't think there's a title challenge under Lampard, squad's unbalanced and there's a lot of new first teamers incoming

Heard noises this ones going ahead ???
From the Leicester side too.

Came from this I believe. Apparently he's fairly reliable for Leicester news and presents a Leicester FC podcast.

literally never heard of this guy and I don't know what presenting a Rugby podcast has to do with Leicester City

That’s how you build a team, Ed/Joel, rather than flailing around for a month on each target, penny pinching and generally cocking things up

Leicester City Podcast* then.
well given the 2 teams play very different sports its quite a key difference no?

As I said I've never heard of the guy and neither is seems has most of the Leicester City forums I use so no idea if he is reliable, I don't think the players are even back from holiday yet and most will be isolating having been in Spain etc. so I doubt he has cleared his locker out and said goodbye today.

If you type Leicester FC into google everything on the first page is about the football club. You knew what I meant but everytime someone talks about your club you get your panties in a twist.

I’d be happy with Chilwell, just not for that ridiculous fee. He will inevitably be compared to Ashley Cole and I don’t think he will be hitting those heights.

Just imagine how much Evra and Cole would have been worth in today’s market. 150 million?

What is the current world record fee for a LB, is it Mendy or Lucas Hernandez? Is Lucas Hernandez classed as LB or CB?

just for the record the talk I've always seen from people we know to be reliable is Leicester want "a Maguire type fee"

Why? Shaw is better. Unless he wants to be a backup.

I think it’s a toss up, which whether you think he’s better or not, there’s really not much difference in it, ergo it wouldn’t be a good transfer as left back is not bad with Shaw and Williams. Investment in other areas of the team is clearly far more important. Midfield, centre back, right wing and even striker.

Its not a massive improvement, so I see no point.
