Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

They always seem to find a sudden twist in everything. Too much drama for me to believe them. Conflicts of opinion happen everywhere but they make it sound the club's board is an every man for himself party.

Harry sticking his neck out there. After yesterday's reveal

He will be mercilessly targeted by Fergie's gang now. He made enemies of a powerful cabal :nono:

Maybe him almost, but then not getting the England job was Fergie's doing too :nervous:

So, Fergie's "scheming" amounted to pretending he liked Maureen, bigging the latter up, and pretty much promising him the United job - only to...hand it to Moyesie, in order to spite and humiliate Maureen.

Right.

That MUFC Whistleblower lunatic that's commenting on their tweets has a timeline a lot more interesting than Red Issue's.

Yeah, "Ignore the "matey" image, despite the fact we used it ourselves once to back up the point we were trying to make at that particular time."

You know what I don't believe that SAF doesn't like Mourinho, I'm sure that at worst he is indifferent. People try to explain the choice of Moyes over Mourinho with that but iirc Mourinho had already agreed to join Chelsea when SAF announced his retirement I remember journos claiming that he would join Chelsea early 2013.

Fergie still hasn't forgiven Jose for sprinting down the OT pitch in 2004. Now in 2016 he gets his ultimate revenge. It all makes sense now ...thanks Red Issue.

No doubt Jose is everything you say there but does he honestly think he can take on and push Ferguson out of Manchester United?

All this 'Fergie hates him because he couldn't beat him' stuff sounds mental to me. Fergie actually did beat him by winning the title after Chelsea won it twice. He seen Jose off and carried on winning titles.

And any concerns about Jose removing any power he has could have happened with LvG. A renowned crazy, temperamental powerful character in his own right.

Giggs would be manager by now if there were any truth to this. What's more likely to me is Fergie doesn't actually have that much power, doesn't hate Jose and wants what's best for the club he spent his best years building.

Mourinho cost Ferguson at least one Champions league when he was at Porto. He was fuming at what he called Portos' 'antics'. They went on to beat Lyon, Deportivo and Monaco in the final, we'd have thumped any one of those teams that year. That alone cost Ferguson the 3 time winner tag he craved, a select band of managers indeed.

He also cost him a few titles, and outsmarted him at Old Trafford when he was at Real Madrid. When Nani went off Mourinho reacted and changed the game, by strengthening their midfield, Ferguson put Wellbeck out on the wing weakening ours. A big mistake!

Mourinho has cost Ferguson dearly over the years, and had the hoodoo over him. He also wouldn't have folded like Benites and Wenger. There's an old saying about keeping your friends close, and your enemies even closer.

Mourinho was Fergusons mortal enemy, and I believe the friendship was false on his part.

I don't believe Fergie dislikes him either. At the beginning at Chelsea he was quite cold but I think by the end the amount of praise going to and fro showed the two were on good terms.

David Moyes (and Marouane Fellaini) cost us a title

Didn't stop him getting the job

I think in head to head out of 15 played,SAF only beat him twice but there was a lot of draws ?

Why should anyone care was Fergie thinks? It's not his call and he should have no influence on the decision.

He didn't 'cost' him anything. He beat him in those instances and while Ferguson hated being beaten, he was a fierce competitor and respected proper competition, which Mourinho gave him.

For sure he shouldn't have influence, especially after his first choice messed up. But the situation seems it's either Mourinho or Giggs. Those tweets suggest the old guard (SAF, SBC, DG) oppose to Mourinho but don't want Van Gaal any longer, pointing to their beloved Giggs. Woodward wants Van Gaal to be able to turn it around, though if a change is needed doesn't want Giggs.

I said above those tweets are very Walter Mitty but nonetheless unlike 2013 there isn't a wealth of choices available.

I have no idea if what they have written is true, it's certainly plausible, but it's worth noting that RI can publish material that the mainstream cannot, and they will often write stories that have not been second sourced. They have no fear of getting banned from the club i.e. they never conduct interviews with players, they do not get briefed directly by Woodward and co etc.
