Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
I've just seen a few episodes of the re-make series.

It's Fracken' garbage.

The cylon women (the most blatent Seven of nine rip-off i've ever seen) is sexy though.

And why do they say "Frack" instead of "feck"?
For Frack's sake, Frack off, Frack you, Frack me, etc.

And why say it so often? Very annoying.

Say something else instead!

Stupid Frackers.

Prove it.

Iv watched it so far...

Its quite good

But didnt 'Face' play starbuck in the original?

because starbuck in the remake is a lass.

You're on crack. The new BG series kicks ass.

The guy who plays Tom Zerek in the new series played Apollo in the original.

I saw the first series only and I thought it was fracking good. Certaintly, one of the best sc-fi around and a light year better than the original.

i recently viewed this, watched the mini series, series 1, 2 and 3 in space of about 10 days - 2 weeks. i thought it was great

Very good ending to an epic series.

There's an older thread with the same name but its in the general so I thought this one is best to bump.

Amazing last episode. Pure TV brilliance. I could have sobbed like a baby if I wanted to. Still a few things I didn't like/get:

SPOILERS:

Why does Odama just leave his son and best friend to go and live alone? What a lame way to end such an epic character's story line. I always figured he'd be chilling with Lee and Tigh. The way he said goodbye to Lee and Starbuck indicated that he was not coming back. His last scene was him sitting all alone like some old hermit talking to a dead Roslin. Lame.

Also just what was the significance of Hera after all this? Mitchondrial Eve. Wait what?? Or rather how? What does that even mean?

And finally, what did that last bit of dialogue between Baltar and Six mean? Where she said "it doesnt like to be called that" and he said "silly silly me". I assumed she meant God doesn't like to be called "it". Any other significance to that line?

Can you not put spoilers IN feckING WHITE FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST GODDAMN EPISODE!

I apoligise. To be fair their nothing close to major spoilers. Just minor personal gripes.

Also entering a BSG thread which was bumped right after the series finale might not be the smartest thing to do if you want to avoid spoilers.

I love BSG and believe its one of the best shows on tv right now, i wasnt a fan of the orginial - watched reruns as a kid and i thought it was cheezy then! FYI they say "Frack" because if they say "feck" there would be beep sound every 10 seconds. Still have to watch the final ep just been really really busy

Well its not been shown on Sky yet, (Tuesday). Thanks for the hiding it in white :)

Can't wait personally, one of the best tv shows i've watched. Really gritty drama.

awesome ending to an awesome show,

can't wait for The Plan feature length tv movie and Caprica next year, (although Caprica will probably be shit)

Frack makes me cringe whenever I hear it, always been my biggest annoyance with the show.

Good ending though, not great, but good.

The last 2 seasons just haven't been at the level of 1 and 2.

Dont tell me the ending but does it tie up the whole thing about the ophra house, Starbuck and those 'Head' people?

I really need to watch this series. I've heard nothing but good things.

I would recommend buying/renting all the seasons (1-4) and watching them in one jam packed weekend!

Good ending? I wouldn't even call it an average ending. It was a downright parody. It was one my all-time favourite shows before the last couple of episodes, now I don't even know if I could bare watching any of it again, knowing what it's "all about".

I wouldn't go that far, but I agree in that the last episodes were generally a pile of shite.

That was a brilliant ending. Just goes to show that the series was always about the characters and their relationships rather than the science fiction.

I loved it. A few small gripes, but thought it was well played out.

Yeah i saw the ending too and was impressed with how it ended, i did feel the ending dragged on a bit - had it ended with Adama talking to the grave i think it would have made the ep 10x better but overall i was impressed. One thing i have not understood is there is a general dislike for the past few episodes and even much of season 3 but i've loved every minute of it!

The love triangle in Season 3 weighed it down, it frustrated me at times. I also believe that BSG is a strange show, it's science-fiction yet doesn't rely on massive battles or action sequences to keep viewers entertained. It relied heavily on the viewers being attached to the characters emotionally and wanting to see how they evolve. The depressing nature and dark undertones of the general plot also seems pretty relevant in todays climate.

Still, you got to love the irony at the end.

I finished it around Christmas time. I agree. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

It reminded me of Babylon 5 in some ways.

My opinions on the ending of BSG:

I liked the closure on the characters.. I know it was heavy handed but everyone had their final moments where we get an idea of what they will do on New Earth... sometimes in a show I don't want a Sopranos-esque ending, I want it to feel nicely wrapped up.

The flashbacks of the characters... showed us the moments that defined our characters - the turning points so to speak in their lifes where they made the big decision that eventually led them to where they are now.. thought it was a good idea and it didn't rob to much screen time from the final episodes.

The role of God and the 'angels'... they overstated the religious aspect at the end... the show strongly hinted about a greater presence throughout the series but it was always mystical... in the finale they made it a bit to 'this is what it is'... wasn't really necessary.

The whole breaking of the cycle thing.. I liked it. It added greater meaning to what the show was about.. of course it was always the characters and their interactions which really drove the show for the most part.. but I have no problem with a 'higher purpose' been thrown into the mix

So yeah.. really liked the series as a whole. A lot more maturer than any other space drama I've seen.

Well, 2010 me disagrees with 2007 me. This series really grew on me.

The whole "frack" thing was always annoying though.

Well... I assumed it was to bypass the censor so it could be aired at a certain time.

Was this not the case?

Watched first 2 seasons. Very good. Still, I have to agree with the quote.

I saw the first 2 seasons of SGA and imo BSG in its 4 seasons was far better than anything stargate has produced, granted season 3 and 4 did tail off a bit but after the success of the first 2 seasons it was always going to be hard to top. SGA seemed more cheezy and always ended on the "hero saving the day, and having a joke about it at the end of the day"

just my opinion though

Well, that's one of the things I like about Atlantis, not taking themselves too seriously, kind of casual but still good story....there was something that I didn't like about Galactica, but I can't remember now, it was a long time ago...

...ah, shit, who am I kidding, I'll probably be searching for torrent this evening...:wenger:
