I'm sure he gets paid tonnes to wear them so I won't be too harsh about the headphones

The reaction from Bayern fans and also some media outlets in Germany is rather strange but also funny.
Everyone trying to blame someone else. Pep, Sammer, Rummenigge, the club.

Seems they just cannot accept that a player from FC Bayern has the ambition to play somewhere else. It's been quite common knowledge that Basti wanted to play abroad at some point. Seems too hard to accept for some Bayern fans though.

So he'll be in Manchester around 6pm, have a medical tonight and be on the plane tomorrow?

If van Gaal wins nothing in the next two years at least he has put us back on the map.

interesting that he switches into Adidas atire once he gets on the plane. what was wrong with what he had on before

More bloody headphones.

In fairness, a flight is the one place I'll tolerate posing with headphones.

On a slightly related story, I was on a flight from Seoul to Singapore last week and there was a fella a couple of rows ahead and to the left of me with a very fancy pair of Bose headphones. I was admiring them as we took off and your man was settling down to watch a movie.

Anyway, you know the way on flights, sometimes if you use your own headphones the in flight announcements are outrageously loud? Well this poor feckers gear must've been something else because when the captain came on he jumped 3 feet into the air, fell over his arm rest and into the aisle. Was bloody hilarious! I think I was the only person who saw and understood what happened because it caused an almighty fuss but I was crying with laughter.

He is going to be jet lagged and tired. This morning in Germany, this evening in Manchester and tomorrow in LA.

Bit ignorant post.
It isn't like they didn't know, but we're talking about the loss of a club legend, it is only natural that there will be a lot of feelings around it.
If Scholes ever left united for another club then I wouldn't take it easily, even if he had flirted with the idea over many years.

There's a difference about beeing hard felt and actually trying to blame someone for things nobody is at fault for. The situation is clear enough and Bayern fans are delibaretly beeing ignorant. Schweinsteiger wanted a new challenge. Of course Bayern could have tried to convince him a bit harder but they said from the beginning that they would respect his wish.

The only way this is explainable is, that many Bayern fans are not liking Pep's way in general and the loss of Schweinsteiger is oil for their fire.

I think Pep has helped in Bastis decision to leave tbh, just my opinion though

Bastian started to play for Bayern in 2002 when players like Kahn, Lizarazu, Scholl etc. were still playing for Bayern. A year after the CL win. He connects two different Bayern generations with each other and a lot of different times... - and connects different generations of fans. 13 years is a very long time.

Some just think that he might have stayed in a different time with a different system.

And - yes, there is Lahm and Badstuber. But the guys who somehow are seen as Bayern identity with their character and charisma are Schweinsteiger and Müller. Lahm is too "perfect" or flawless to get into the hearts.

All the international stars with flair are ok for a club and the fans and people for sure enjoy them. But - the own guys you follow from the time they are "toddlers in the game" who make it are still something special.
