Think of the wages we're clearing from our books with RVP, Falcao, and Nani.I must say, his wages are a bit concerning as well. Somehow we are giving a 31 year old a 3 year contract with a pay rise with bumper wages. I can see us repeating some of the same mistakes we made with Falcao, honestly.
This deal is just a bit 'meh'.
So the same as some people on here?
His wages are going to be pretty high aren't they? At least according to the tabloids.
We could sign Messi next summer and I guarantee you some people will find something to complain about.
He was. These days he's struggling to keep his place at Bayern

Totally. I think RSU has hit the nail on the head.Schweinsteiger knows how to win, has lots to offer and can still see this move as a challenge. The squad is extremely young and could do with an older head that knows how to behave when the going gets tough; something that will be crucial if we are to challenge for trophies at the business end of the season. Criticism of this move seems more like criticism for criticism sake. The positives far outweigh any negatives.

Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, Andrea Pirlo, Claude Makelele...How can we call ourselves a top club when we only rely on leftovers from other top clubs?
Swap "Falcao" for "Schweinsteiger" in that post and it would be a carbon copy of loads of posts at about this time last summer. Hence the concern for some of us.
Yes, because he's best his behind him. How can we call ourselves a top club when we only rely on leftovers from other top clubs?
Watch the WC final and repeat the part with the knackered midfielder.
This guy has the heart and attitude we've been missing for a while. Determination is what makes the difference. He will never lay down and roll over for any opponent. On top of that he'll drag the knackered players over the finishing line.
I hated him for Bayern because of all these attributes. I'd love him if he showed a fraction of his heart and willpower for us.
Which is what we want, no? Obviously we need a longer term solution as well (Schneiderlin), but for the price and the quality he brings, Schweinsteiger seems a no-brainer.Hmmm seems to be a quick fix.
BBC are saying he is going to get a "massive" wage increase. I thought we were expected to pay him the same as he's already getting in Germany?
about £140k. High but basically nothing with the £600k's worth of wages we've cleared out with Nani, RVP and Falcao

Maybe BM are offloading him as they know he's crocked. Shades of Hargreaves?Hmmm seems to be a quick fix.
Rumour is he will earn about €10m per year, which is just under €200k pw I believe.
People often forget the wages, which put a far greater dent in the coffers than most transfer fees these days.

they say the World Cup's 64th match against Argentinahe was the best player at the world cup
There are no negatives to this transfer whatsoever imo. Just the man lining up on the pitch is going to give the players/fans a massive lift alone.
Why do people keep saying he was the best player at the world cup? ?He wasn't even in the running.
Well he would be 28 then, slight signs of decline, and probably wouldn't be as good without Neymar or Suarez running in behind. We could sign Messi next summer and I guarantee you some people will find something to complain about.

And the price is supposed to be 13m€ not pound.

I saw him play against Dortmund in the cup around May time. He played less than 45 minutes (came on towards the end and played 30 mins of extra time as well) he was out of breath and everything towards the end. Completely knackered. Didn't even take a penalty.
