Wtf! Is this really on? Aren't Bild pretty accurate when it comes to Bayern? Or was that Kicker?

Did I once read one of the caf's German posters saying Bild are a bit shit, whereas SportBild are quite reliable?
it does sound suspiciously certain.

if the English rags and journalists are suddenly over it tomorrow it may have something on it.

Good signing if we get Schneiderlin as well.

One thing to note though;
RVP = 6m
Schweinsteiger = 20m

Both are 31. We're getting rinsed here. What happened to the clubs being friendly? How come they got Alonso cheap but we're not getting a player (on the decline) with a year left on his contract cheap?

RVP has an undisclosed bonus, that might be frightening.

People saying our squad would be overkill should have a look at our CL squad

mF in 99 - scholes Keane butt Phil Neville blomqvist cryuff for 2 places

MF in 08 - Anderson scholes park Carrick Hargreaves oshea fletcher for 2 places

This is how I see it. Fellaini Carrick Herrera blind Schneiderlin and schweini for 3 places in midfield with mata Di Maria januzaj depay Young and pereira for 2 in the wings

While i agree with the general point you are trying to make that we could do with more midfielders.

But i have to ask since when were Blomqvist and Cruyff midfielders?

They were both wingers neither ever played CM for United certainly not the treble year anyway, also P.Neville never played in midfield during that season he was cover for both fullback positions (our only cover).

For a similar price, Liverpool signed Nathaniel Clyne.

Difference is we wanted rid of RVP due to his wages. Schweinsteiger is 3 years younger than Alonso and he is also a year younger than RVP. FFS he's not only some tragic decline either. Paul Scholes had an injury hit year when he was 30 odd, played 27 games, iirc we all thought he was going bloody blind. He did alright for a few years after. Top class CM's age well.

Holy mother of feck balls. I still want Morgan though.

20m in the last year of his contract and he'll be 31 when the season starts. I don't know what to think.

He will be one of the experienced ones but at 32-33 isn't going to be particularly influential on the pitch. We're basically buying him well passed his peak.

He is as old as Scholes in 2005. Scholes gave us a few world class seasons since then. I am not sure that the injuries of last year will be the norm. Again for comparison Schweini played 28 matches last season. Scholes played 27 in 2005-2006.

If he is past peak then it is bad, but if not then we will have a fantastic midfielder for a few years. At the worst case, I think that he'll be a very useful player and a much needed leader in a team who lacks them.

Anyway, I am most excited for this signing because there is the possibility that Van Gaal will Schweinsteiger Schweinsteiger. How cool that would be?!

I will literally LITERALLY explode and turn into jellied eels if this is true.

According to a couple of posts on reddit it might be true.

That fee, just low enough to be within the acceptable range to pay, just high enough for a whole bunch of people to moan about.

Who gives a shit, its Bastian fecking Schweinsteiger.

Think about how absurdly rich we are.

We're not in latter-day Fergie Valueland any more. Listen to the manager!

Rvp was on massive wages tho, and had only a year left on his contract

This is the one I want, for that reason I'm not going to get too excited in case it doesn't happen.

But if it does this would be on a par with Scholes coming back, and getting RVP.

If this is true... I am going to dig up and humiliate every single pessimistic cnut in this thread who were bla-ing about how us muppets were stupid for believing.

And now for Ramos :drool::cool:
@pocco will still find something to blame Woodward though.

20m euros is peanuts for us. 13-14m pounds for Schweini and people are complaining. What has Schneiderlin done to you all.

@Balu ???? is this true?
I believe so, yes :(. For a while now it looked like he wants to play abroad in the last few years of his career. Can't really hold that against him, I probably would want the same in his position. Going abroad to work for a few years was a brilliant decision for me.

You guys better treat him well.

This'll (technically) be the first ever German at United.
Technically, we did have Ron-Robert Zieler in the first-team squad before, though he never made a first-team appearance with us. The closest he came was a bench appearance for a League Cup fixture against Middlesbrough (I think it was the match where Possebon got badly injured).

To be fair, whether it's a good deal or not, 20m are nothing for top clubs.

Sure he'll get first dibs on the treatment table

If true, roughly the same price as Nathaniel Clyne to Liverpool. For those complaining about the intended fee instead of getting excited I'd consider that a little bit of perspective.

Yeah, hence the 'technically'. Zieler's actually doing pretty well now isn't he?
