I am suggesting that the term "World" Champions is an over statement! Though Toronto has won a world series ... why don't they call this the North American Championship and take a chance and invite the Japanese and the Cubans! :boring:

As for the Yankees I live in NYC and do not support the soon to be NJ Mets ... so Lets go Yankees!

Any spare tickets for the Twins games?

I know enough to predict the Twins pitching is better than the Yankees and that could mean the difference.Looks like last night's result supports that view.

Come on Pedro....whoop the Angels' asses tonight!!

Rafael Furcal will beavailable for the postseason. It was ruled on Wednesday morning that Furcal will begin serving a 49-day sentence, for violating his probation, as soon as the Braves' season ends. Poor Furcal will miss the parade in downtown Atlanta then?

I guess Furcal and the Braves are happy over this decision but surely this is not a good way to prepare for the game tonite? I reckon they'll sweep the Astros anyway but the Cardinals will be a huge problem to overcome...

I've supported the Yanks since 1958 and my feelings about the New England side are unchanging. :)
As far as the Twinkies go, good defense, timely hitting, and put together on a shoestring--it's hard not to like them. Their owner, on the other hand, is detestible for exactly the opposite reason as Steinbrenner. As the wag in SI put it, when the Twins won the Central pennant, owner Carl Pohlad provided 16 cases of champagne, at cost.

Torii Hunter is a fantastic player IMO. Not as good as Andruw Jones but close.

cnut! :D

0-1 down...but far from over. C'mon, Dodger Blue!

A. Beltre = M-V-P M-V-P M-V-P

And, of course, Barry Sucks!
Oh, of course he does. That's why no one will pitch to him.

There hasn't been another player in the game -- ever -- who can affect the game just by being in the lineup. In my book -- and many others -- that makes him the MVP. Again. ;)

So ... go Cards! Sweep those Dodgers right back to LA. :D

damn boosox won again

as a sox fan since 1969 don't worry - it's not a question if , but when the wheels will come off. :( . especially with some "experts" picking them to go all the way in our heart of hearts we'll crash out. more than likely at yankee stadium.

:D

..would love that to happen but we are are weaker than last season imo and should do well if we get to the World Series.

My attachment to the RedSox is more recent. My mother-in-law many years ago married an american and ever since has lived in Cape Cod,MA .We have been going there every summer for the last 17 years (and other times as well).I always try to get to Fenway when I go and I have become a real convert to baseball which is,in my opinion, far superior to any other american sport.

I subscribe over here to NASN which televises live baseball so I can get to see the RedSox play. They are currently taking ESPN live pictures of the ALDS and NLDS.

This summer I took my 15 year old son to Fenway for a match against the Yankees. We had loges seat overlooking 3rd base....pretty good.

Also,it was probably the best regular game of the season to be at Fenway.RedSox win in the 9th 11-10 having trailed early in the game and a brawl broke out between the 2 sides with both dugouts emptying after Arroyo struck A Rod with a pitch.A Rod and Varitek were the main culprits which led to their being ejected.

The rest of the game was marked with fights breaking out between individual Yankee and RedSox fans all over the stadium....the cops were pretty busy throwing people out!

The noise and atmosphere were great and ,did you know,I learned that YANKEES SUCK !!??

Anyway, this is the year to finally put to rest the Curse of the Bambino....don't you think? ;)

And I just love it that the Dodgers lost again last night ... they had their butts kicked. Just one more game in LA on Saturday and the Dodgers go home for the winter. Go Cards! ;)

 Yankees won game 3, we are now 2-1 up!!!
 @ the Matsui ''homerun''

Ortiz homers bottom of the 10th ,driving in 2 runs and RedSox win 8-6 ....3 straight wins gets them through to the AL Championship Final to meet the winners of the Yankees/Twins play off

GO REDSOX !!!!!!

great game - missed 10 mins and all the runs (5) by the angels. sweep gets the arms on the sox a rest. great set up for the pitching staff. they'll need to be sharp with the lineup the yanks have.

Another Classic Series??

Tuesday night Game 1 Yankees v. boston.. I can wait. This is what everyone wanted.. Will this series be as good as last years? hopefully it wont and the yankees will finish them off in 4 or 5
