I was clearly not engaging in some sematic economic argument of economic value vs market value (or market price or whatever). Mispricing is when economists realise they are largely making shit up as they go along because Messi (for e.g.) is worth/paid/whatever more than their calculations can explain. The market price is however what Barca are going to pay as he is at the end of his contract and anyone can make him an offer so it is an open free market.

There’s a lot of noise without substance when facts are clearly showing your club is on a downward trajectory and fast. Not only are you in deep financial trouble, you can’t even register the players you’ve bought to get you out of it…
United may not have recent trophies, but atleast we can finance ourselves…I’d take long terms success over 2 years of mediocrity for $200 million any day… because with where your club is and the players you’ve “purchased this summer” that is what you’re staring down the barrel of.
How is that a moronic take when Barcelona need to reduce the wage bill in order to register their new players. There comes a point when no player is bigger than the club. I dare say a proper forensic audit has to happen at Barca. I just never understood a handful of the signings under Bartomeu, signings like Boateng, Paulinho, Griezman(understandable as he was a class player) Dembele, Coutinho on those figures can never be justified, no surprise same leadership offered those ridiculous contracts to their players, if you offer Griezman that much, it’s only normal to offer Messi at least twice that.

I think Pjanic situation goes more with them having a highly egocentric Koeman in power, I hear lots of Barca fans rated Puig, but Koman just had his preferences and even before the season started for example stated clearly that Puig wasn’t in his plans, someone you’ve not even had a training session with.
He just never fancied Pjanic, makes you question himself and the board.

Covid means that salary caps are even more important. Barca have clearly been spending above their means for years; their wage to revenue ratio is crazy and unsustainable; it’s finally come back to bite them hence why they were keen for the Super League to work.
