The fact that he has missed training through the "impending transfer" injury and Barca's representatives were in town on Tuesday suggests that he may be off.

Great player, but not sure that he's a great defender or that anyone has worked out how to properly use him. Capable of great goals, but that's not his position and he is still prone to lapses in concentration.

Pique and Luiz as a centre back pairing. They both love to run forward, should be interesting and easy fir good counter attacking teams. But Barca being weird and all, I bet they'll make Luiz a midfielder and keep Mascherano as a defender.

I don't get it. I really don't get it. He's not a great player at all and he's certainly not a good defender. I can see why pundits and fans may overrate him, but not proper folks like Barcelona's scouts and staff.

He's not that good. For 35m Chelsea should take that money and run laughing. He's a liability in defence. Good at set pieces though. Who would they replace him with? Im guessing they would prefer Ivanovic to stick in the center which is his preferred position. They would need more cover at the back though.

He's a good footballer, but not a very good defender, so I don't really see Chelsea being that much worse off if it happens. They'll buy someone, maybe Mangala and probably become more solid as a result.

Will be glad to have him out of the league. Never liked him. Always did well against us as well. Couldn't stand his constant dirty fouls, throwing elbows around and off the ball tackling, always just to constantly wind up the opposition. He'll be much better at Barca as a defender then in Chelsea though, because they don't require as much defending as players do here in the premier league. 35 million is way too much though

There were reports on the weekend that they were 'preparing' a £40m bid, which was probably Euros, so £35m sounds about right.

Is he feck? I hate the way the word is thrown around.

He's a good player but an average CB.

A CB pairing of Pique and Luiz will do nothing to solve Barca's problems in the area.

Is it possible that the good folks running Chelsea, Barca and the Brazil national team know a little bit more about football than you and other fans?

35m for this clown?

It looks as though Barca are attracted to his fancy name and ridiculous hair rather than his ability.

United fans underrate him a lot - especially on here. He's a good footballer, not the laughing stock that the caf would have you believe imo. If we could nick 40 million off them, I think we'd be alright with Mangala and Ivanovic for cover in the middle and would have more funds to put towards the Rooney deal if required.

I think he'd improve Barca. Bear in mind that we paid around 20m for him.

I don't wanna sell him. He's a future captain and massively popular at the club (especially with our Brazilians & Spaniards).

Where do you see his future? As a CB or a defensive midfielder?

Luiz to Barca -> Fabregas to United -> Rooney to Chelsea - it needs to happen for the ferris wheel to spin.

Also, the sooner this all happens, the quicker we can all start chuckling at Arsenal... a time-honoured hobby that's fun for all the family.

Barca are probably the only team in the world where he would fit in perfectly as a centre back. Their defenders need to be great on the ball which he is, and defending is pretty much optional.

Never really taken to his tongue out, "geezers" wackiness personally but did like the fact that he always plays with passion. Good for the likes of Oscar to have around but we could survive without him.

The fact that Barca directors were here on Tuesday talking to his agent about personal terms and he's missing the Real Madrid game suggests he's off to me.

Where do you see his future? As a CB or a defensive midfielder? I ask because if you see him as a future captain, he'd have to be among your best players. I can never see it happening at CB.

EDit not working on the PC am on.

He'd definitely suit their system and improve them.

Not to panic anyone. But, one thing that has surprised me is how Chelsea have not been in for Fabregas, They could use him too. Cant see any reason why he would prefer us over them if he's not going back to Arse

Piss off, he's fecking shite. And a cockhead.

Mundo Deportivo (or however you spell it) reporting the bid is between 20-25m EUROS

Dear god..35m for this clown. I never thought football would come to this.

I dont believe it. Barca are known to feck clubs up by paying less as the players force a move. 35mil for Luiz would be shocking.

I said at the start of the summer, if there was one team Luiz would actually do well in its Barcelona.

Translator for Neymar probably.

I think he's class TBH. 40 mil is steep but in the current market not preposterous.
