Well it seems a no-brainer to me that this guy should have been one of the first guys mentioned in the brain-storming session when trying to replace your star striker. On the pitch I'm a big fan, a hell of an eye for goal, from what I've seen rarely misses a good chance and will be the ideal replacement of Suarez. I don't think he quite has the talent as Suarez overall and maybe won't get as many goals/assists, but is going to put 'pool back up there i think. Which is a shame for us since we were sort of relying on the lack of Suarez making them struggle.

All this said, the guy's a dickhead and I don't think i'd want him in a team i supported until he grows up.

Sturridge and ballotelli are a catastrophe waiting to happen. Going to be lots of stories about those 2 over the course of the season.

Yeah he was a volatile character back then but hopefully he's matured a little and calmed down some. From 20th Aug 2013 thru 2nd August 2014 he had 19 Yellows (2 in one match = Red) but zero direct Red Cards. Worth the risk ..I hope.

How many times has he been subbed off to avoid a red?

Ok, Balotelli i'll give you but what's Daniel Sturridge ever done to warrant such a prediction? He seems a very grounded and pleasant guy off the pitch.

5 pens in his 21 goals in all matches last season.

Is that for Italy and Milan?

According to Wiki he scored 18 in 41 for Milan. That despite being their main striker.

PS: I hope there's no comparison with Suarez. Suarez was a cnut, Balotelli seems like an OK guy who's just bit of an nutcase. Different situations.

TBF Milan are absolute garbage at the moment and he scored some crackers. He's very talented striker, just think of his Euro 2012 performances, if he can replicate any of that he will be a snip at 16 mill.

Love how all the Pool fans on my Facebook have become experts on all things Balotelli and Milan in the last 48 hours.

I think nobody doubts his talent.

Great Suarez leaves than they bring back this guy to the league. I honestly hate him even more than Suarez and I was overjoyed when he left City so I didn't have to endure that animal in the league anymore, now he is back, feck you Liverpool !

I always wondered "what if Fergie had taken him under his wing"

I really think he could have made a difference in Balloteli's career

I don't see this as a good thing at all.I think he'll he get 20 goals or so for them.

Maybe. But if Ravel Morrison was at another club we would have said the same.

If Morrison had been at another club, he'd never have been noticed enough to say that. He's done preciously little at senior level.

Not relevant. The point is Sir Alex can't magically help all types of unstable footballers.

Sir Alex tried everything with Morrison and gave him every chance. Reportedly in the end he was the last person to give up on him at OT.

As in I reckon both of them are going to clash, position, playing time, wanting to be the main man, I just think there's a lot of fuel on that fire, and sure Sturbridge seems a decent lad off the pitch but he's always been very selfish in his style of play add in ballotelli and I think it will be an issue, how will pool line up with the 2 in the side?

i've never rated him myself but there must be something about him for all these coaches to want to take him on.
does he have the work ethic to suit brentons system? i'm not so sure, he's incredibly selfish and on his off days actually disruptive to the team

however, sometimes characters like him just need the right club at the right time and who knows maybe that'll be liverpool.
or maybe he'll be a disaster and cause nothing but unrest before being shipped out in a year or two for a pittance, heres hoping its the latter

Has he ever got 20 goals for a club in a season before?

No doubt the talent, but I can't think of one season where he has applied himself enough to do it. I can't see it changing now to be hones,t he is what he is, brilliant a few matches a year, a fecking liability in half of the rest, an average striker in what is left.

He's a destabilising liability. Bizarrely low fee though given the hype that follows him everywhere he goes.

17 was the best he ever got in all competitions with Man city in 2013.
14 is his best in a league season. Last year at Milan.

158 league games. 66 goals in his career.

A bit unfair to judge him on that since he played a lot of games at big clubs when he was a kid.

So since he has turned 21.
80 games. 40 goals.

Still not great as it probably includes a few penos.

Still Arsenal and Chelsea to go for Anelk... I mean Balotelli.

With the way he moves about, you wouldn't rule it out after his spell at Juventus.

Seriously though, I'm not sure how suited he is to the quick counter style away from home despite his pace, but at Anfield where they completely suffocate teams and dominate nine times out of ten, he'll give them much needed directness and a willingness to shoot early.

Not a bad deal, though I don't rate him nearly as highly as some do.
Will be very interesting to see how Rodgers approaches man managing him, seeing as Rodgers fancies himself as some sort of ultra-experienced 'been there; done that' veteran. Maybe love, marriage (and maybe a child?) will mean a more mature Balotelli though?

I'd say the gutter press can't wait, they'll manage to make anything about him into a headline. Rodgers would do well to keep him out of the public eye as much as possible.

Must be more that 16m. Cant see Milan selling him for less than what they bought him for.

I think that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about this transfer.
The club don't want him, the fans don't like him and they all want him gone.
Liverpool need another striker under retirement age and Rodgers has convinced himself he is the man to tame him.

It will be wonderful player this, fantastic human being that.

Yes. That was last season, all matches he played in.

He'll most likely leave in a few years having been a limited success.

Still, for that price he's a very good signing atm, I think. Even if it goes wrong it's hardly going to be a total disaster (not like he's going to racially abuse or bite anyone) and they'll probably get most of their fee back at least.

Liverpool if this happens get deals done! Jesus what are we playing at.

Ah I see, I think we'll accomodate the two by playing the diamond formation (where we've generally looked our best) with Balotelli and Sturridge up as a front two, both can drop back to pick up the ball, play on the last man and pop up in wide positions fairly well so I can see them alternating between those roles. As for Sturridge's selfish side, I think he showed when partnering with Suarez he can work well with a strike partner (Suarez showed he too can curb his selfish side with a partner), the selfish side comes out more when he's up on his own and maybe he feels the onus is on him to score the goals for the team. But im not really anticipating any sort of personality clash with him and Balotelli.

But I can also see us reverting to just one up front in games where we absolutley need more men in midfield with Sturridge being the preferred striker as his workrate (also something he was critiscised for before he joined us) is better tha Balotelli's

I thought the premier league had got rid of this bellend. And beside, didn't he say how as shit it was in England and the premier league when he fecked off? The twat should be booed by every fan. Saying that, that odious spunk stain will fit right in at a club that is the arsehole of the premier league.
