Balotelli signs for Liverpool - Official

Balotelli is bound to be on huge wages. He is probably Liverpool best paid player now. :)

He ain't going to be sitting on the bench.

Talk seems to be he is on 60-75k at Milan. Don't think he'll be close to our top earner.

It would be interesting to see who they drop to make room for him. They can play Sterling, Sturridge, Coutinho and Balotelli in a 4-2-3-1, but then do you really want Gerrard in a 2-man midfield at this stage?

Will be a great signing for them. World class player. He'll just continue what Suarez did in terms of goals and controversies.

Strange signing for me, he obviously has talent but he's not good enough to justify stifling Sturridge's game yet is too good to not play regularly and be a back up. His attitude and work rate just doesn't fit into Rodgers system at all. I doubt Rodgers will be able to sort his mentality out simply because only Balotelli himself can.

Nobody denies he is a gifted footballer, but he's clearly mentally unstable. While Suarez has some serious psychological issues, he leaves everything on a pitch and competes hard.

Mario is never the player to go to when things don't go well, he's lazy and uninterested most of times. When faced with difficulty, instead of fighting hard for the team he tends to do something immature and stupid.

Mourinho and Mancini couldn't handle him, I doubt anyone else can. He may score a few, but he's more trouble than he's worth. There's a reason, why he's available for a very modest fee despite his obvious enormous talent.

I'm also surprised how over rated he is. Right now he's a good player nothing more. He's 24 and looks to be no nearer fulfilling his potential than he was at the age of 19. Now thats a worry.

I think this signing to prove to be at one end of the extremes. I think it's more likely that it won't end well for Liverpool. He's a good player, but the lad is a hot head and I don't think that will ever change. He's certainly a better option than Lambert but Mario may well cause more trouble than good.

Coutinho has proven he can play in central midfield to very good effect. I am more concerned with how well Lallana will cope in that three man midfield.

Liverpool are miles ahead of us at the moment. I can't belive we have let our team get this bad

Maybe this signing will drag them back a bit when he inevitably burns down Brenton's house ;)

That's net though, Italian salaries seem to be reported that way whereas in the UK they're reported as gross. So that wage would be well over £100k in Liverpool's terms.

I was thinking that, something didn't seem right when a lot of Italian newspapers were reporting that Vidic and Cole were on €2.3m and €1.6m salaries.

I don't see the Suarez comparison, beyond that they're both bellends.

Suarez was a much better player and even when he did get suspended, he at least gave it his all on the pitch when he was back. Balotelli is a self centred Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime. His attitude is horrendous and he'll go missing for you and cost you games with his petulance. You need only look at the youtube videos of him in training at City, Milan, etc to see what a brat he is. If Liverpool want to waste time and energy trying to placate him and his tantrums, then great. If I were them I would be looking for a period of stability, not replacing one nutter with another.

An argument could be made that Suarez's ability compensates for his behaviour, that's why Real/Barca etc were all over him. I'm not sure if the same one could be made for Balotelli.

Aye, it was the same with Vidal. I thought his wage seemed low but in turned out to just be reported after tax.

Who is your highest earner, now that Suarez is gone?

Gerrard I am guessing. Not sure who comes next. Probably skrtel, agger, Johnson as senior players signed before trimming the bill became a concern.

One liability out another in. After the controversy that Suarez left this is would be a strange signing. Liverpool are clearly desperate for that big name. Falcao and Cavani must have been a no go. Balotelli is as good as anyone on his day but what day will it be? A stamp on a player, fight with his own team or a 30 yard goal. Just shows Liverpool don't give a feck about there reputation anymore. The circus that came with Suarez is nothing compared to this clown. Some blinkers will be on in the kop when he does something wrong. No manager can control crazy Mario for long, not even god knows what he will do:lol:

Season long loan I here. Thats not so bad.

Indeed. It would be crazy of Liverpool to commit to a long term contract.

If he does go on loan to Liverpool I suspect they will kick him out within 3-4 months.

He has? Also I can't see Lallana and Coutinho operating as 2 of a midfield 3 together

I think Gerrard will be gone in a season or two. Of the remaining players, Johnson is the one who is actually on pretty high wages if I remember correctly and he is pretty woeful compared to the kind of money he is on. Pretty much how most of us feel about Young, Fellaini, Nani (not counting Anderson here since he is absolutely useless) in terms of their ability/contribution and the money they are on.

City didn't want him. Milan don't want him. Perhaps Rodgers sees one reject emulating another (Sturridge).

He bullied Everton and Arsenal in midfield.

But yeah, I don't see both of them in central midfield. They'll be vying for the same spot.

Yeah. Gerrard, Henderson plus one for most games, I'd have thought.

He was on €60-65 p.w. at Milan. Talk was he wanted £85k a week. Obviously there's no real idea of the final figure though.

The Italian press report wages as after tax so Balotelli was probably on somewhere in the region of €120k at Milan. Liverpool might bump his wages up a bit to £120/130k.

So will it be Sturridge and Mario? With the diamond behind them? Surely neither will be happy to sit on the bench...

I had forgotten completely about Lallana.

Coutinho and Gerrard as a 2-man midfield though? I really cant see that working against good opposition.

Overrated, and people don't choose to see that because of his antics, both on and off the pitch. Had he been a quiet player, who just got on with things, people wouldn't give a feck about him, or at least he wouldn't be in the spotlight he's in now.

He'll go and destroy the whole Liverpool team now. I mean, if Rodgers continues to play his 433 formation, will that mean Sturridge will be shunted out wide? Or maybe he'll go with a 4312 like last year, with Balotelli and Sturridge up top, but peeling off wide, with Sterling in behind them?

Mignolet
Manquillo - Sakho - Lovren - Moreno
Gerrad
Henderson - Coutinho
Sterling
Strurridge - Balotelli

Either way, I don't think Balotelli was the right choice, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
