It is an interesting purchase, 16m is not pennies for liverpool, though they have sold Suarez.

Balotelli is similar to Berba, without the class and touch, in as much as he will sulk, be lazy and be fairly non-existent until he has a moment of brilliance. Regardless, he is a million times better than Lambert.

He has infinitely more talent, but Lambert for Southampton was excellent so I'm not sure how true that is.

I think that says more for Milan's financial position more than anything else. Young Berlusconi hasn't got the money to invest anymore.

That may be true - but if so why sell supposedly one of your best players for such a meagre fee? Wouldn't they be better off with him?

Honestly I have no clue how Rodgers will set up but I'm eager to see how he will incorporate Balotelli into the team. I think like you said the side was built around cantona but it probably hinged on Fergies feelings having seen him for quite a while and judging the kind of character he was looking for. Ferguson was very good at that and I don't know if Rodgers is. That said I understand why folk are very wary of signing Balotelli but I like the lad in many ways and could see things working for him if all goes well.

It'll be fascinating and fun to watch to be honest.

I just find it bizarre. Rodgers has done a great job building a side that frankly, last year over achieved given the players he had. Suarez is a huge loss. Team spirit seems good, the players all seem to pulling for each other. Now they're chucking in a potential hand grenade with a player who has issues.

Whatever happens it'll be interesting but it could be a pivotal moment for Rodgers. Make if work he'll be a genius. If not and if all goes tits up his reputation will take a big hit.

It'll be an entertaining two or three years anyway. I liked him at City, mainly due to his insanity.

Yeah that's it. It could be brilliant or an all round sh1t storm!

He's a decent signing for them. They were never going to get a player like Falcao/Cavani and Balotelli is a step up from the likes of Remy, although with the downside that he's not reliable.

He's twice the player Lambert is anyway.

Good signing I think. He's barmy but for the price I think he's worth the risk. Plus he's a reasonably big name which does no harm.

Think he'll do well there for about 18 months before he gets fidgety and does something stupid.

People overplay his off the field antics imo as long as they can slot him in regularly I think he will score plenty of goals. Obviously going to be a lot different from the Suarez/Sturridge partnership but if it works he will be a very good signing.

Yeah, it's not the worst of signings for them. Despite his mentality problems, he did often deliver for City and he has a lot of ability.

Only like 12 open play goals for Milan, insane actually. He's not going to take over Gerrard as the penalty taker, so he's gonna have to up that big time. His open play stats with Inter, italy and City aren't much better either.

I thought he was better, guess £16m is his worth.

I hope we don't regret this - Fabregas and Balotelli go for a combined £40M.
