About £36m. About the same Stones will go for. This lad fits the LvG mould. Maybe we are going to cope with what we have then go for him next season? He will have a years more experience. Likely the same way Chelsea should with Stones, but they won't. Stones should stay at Everton for a season ideally.

I think being left footed means that he would suit our current system better. Laporte could play with Smalling and not instead of. He is a big improvement on Blind and Rojo in that LCB spot

Him, Marquinhos, and Varane are the best young defenders that I'd like to see us splash the cash on. Many thought we'd go for an experienced head but with Otamendi seemingly bound for City, I really think we should go for one of these.

I think despite English uncoolness, Stones is also one of the best young defenders too. He doesn't have CL experience admittedly, but I think he's up there with those mentioned.
I think it's a mix of both, journalists will take everything he say word for word and write it down before thinking themselves.

I think he will be ok against some teams but completely out of his depth against the bigger sides.
I do think he has a good chance of outperforming at CB. He displays excellent positioning, situational awareness, and passing skills. I'd like to see how he fares against a few more prominent strikers as well, but i get the impression he is slotting in well alongside our revamped defensive setup.
Not sure he's good enough at the moment. If we are going to pay his €50m release clause then I would rather do that next summer and see if how he progresses this season.

Same here. He is coming off a average season, which is bad by his standards. If he can recover this season, there are signs he is, then go in for him next season.
He's left footed so he'd take Blind or Rojo's place if he came.......I definitely can't see him signing for us this season, maybe next summer

You don't make bids for Bilbao players, you have to meet the buyout clause, and there's no way there's time for that to happen with how they hold things up and make it as difficult as possible.
We could in theory apply for an extension though.
