Ayden Heaven is the best on earth.
He's also not part of the solution though. He is a big earner, will be on even a reduced wage, he's a limited player and we need to free up resources and a place in squad. So we need to get shot, especially with Heaven and possibly other young players coming through.I don’t mind him sticking around whilst Heaven and Yoro build experience. Maguire has been solid for us and seems like a good personality to have around. He’s the least of the problems really.
lets hope he doesn't mature into the older rashford of defenders. He seems to be the young Rashford of defenders, stepped up when we are plagued by injuries and has been a pleasant surprise. Actually I prefer him to Lindelof and Maguire.
He's a bit of a bruticulo isn't he? A little too clumsy at times.I wouldn't be sure about de Ligt for the next 8-10 months
Ooh, baby, do you know what he’s worth?Ayden Heaven is the best on earth.
Lots of players have come into the first team at even younger age and excelled. His coaches will know what is required for his development but this idea of bubble wrapping because you are scared of him getting backlash is pathetic. If he is good enough, he will step up. If he isn't, he will be moved on. Your age is not a guarantee portal to success.Age is absolutely relevant if you care about a player's entire career trajectory rather than just focussing on the short term.
Maguire has been here for several seasons and has been dreadful for the majority of it. Any club aspiring to reach the top does not keep players like him around. This summer, they must look to have him jettisoned.I don’t mind him sticking around whilst Heaven and Yoro build experience. Wes Brown is a better example given how Rashford ended up.He seems to be the young Rashford of defenders, stepped up when we are plagued by injuries and has been a pleasant surprise. Actually I prefer him to Lindelof and Maguire.

We extended his contract for a year I doubt he is going anywhere now.I bet they'd sell him for any half decent offer. He lacks pace and mobility to be top class.
Most of our older high earners are for sale.
Shaw, Mount, Maguire, Casemiro, Lindelof, Antony, Rashford, Sancho, Eriksson etc...
The problem is offloading players on high salaries.
Agree that de Ligt hadn't exactly set the place on fire yet, but I still feel like he's becoming more and more like the player we hoped he would be.Probably not, I don't think the club will be proactive enough to do that but I wouldn't be surprised if the consensus shifts to wanting de Ligt moved on/replaced in a year's time. He hasn't been bad the last couple of games but there are a couple of fundamental shortcomings in his game that I find difficult to overlook for a starting player.

I think it suits us to hang on to Maguire for one more season. Partly because we don't exactly know what we need to replace him with. After (hopefully) a more stable season, we'll have a far better sense of how good Yoro, De Ligt and Heaven are, plus we'll be able to see if Martinez's injuries keep occurring. At the moment Im not even sure if we'd need a peak player in their mid-20s, a cheap backup option or another youngster to develop over a couple of seasons.I just don’t think we need to do much of anything at CB this summer. Keeping Maguire is cheaper than replacing him for a fee. Lindelof will probably go, Martinez is crocked, and for this reason I’d keep him. Along with what I also mentioned previously. He’s also far more dominant in the air than our other CBs and has a purpose in certain games.
He’s also on £190k per week, which isn’t a crazy salary. Lindelof is on £120k, Eriksen £150k. I don’t feel like it’s killing us financially to keep Maguire.
he has been our best performing CB in the last 18 months.Maguire has been here for several seasons and has been dreadful for the majority of it. Any club aspiring to reach the top does not keep players like him around. This summer, they must look to have him jettisoned.

Based on what? The fact Ten Hag played youth more than any other manager since SAF. Excuse me, your agenda is showing.Good on Ruben for trusting the kid ... I have no doubt ten Hag would have started Lindelof over him.
I like him, there's talent for sure. Good to finally have to left footed players on that side again.
I don’t see any issue keeping Maguire for another season as replacing him is yet another job that needs doing.A club which switched to 3 at the back, a formation which Maguire made his name at international level, and then saw Maguires base level performance improve dramatically should do anything but jettison him.
100% agreed. Maguire has tons of PL and International experiences, and he's not that old either for a CB. Imho, he's still our best CB on games that we need to defend deep. He's also our best long passer CB.I don’t mind him sticking around whilst Heaven and Yoro build experience. Maguire has been solid for us and seems like a good personality to have around. Wolves should be comming for us. We should be the wolves.Lots of players have come into the first team at even younger age and excelled. Ayden becoming several years older isn't going to make him an excellent player. His work ethic, application, improvement along with talent is what will elevate him. Not your phantom obsession with age. He left Arsenal because he believes in his own ability to succeed. While you quiver in your panic room with worry, the world rotates. I'm sure he just wants to get out there and perform. We will find out soon enough but Manchester United is not a creche kindergarten facility where you get protected from the big bad wolves. The wolves are coming for you anyway as soon as you don the club's crest.
