Ayden Heaven | 2024/25 Performances

If it works out, we could have a very good back three for the next 8 years.

Yoro - DeLigt - Heaven
Unfortunately it never works like this, learnt from thinking we got our fullback pairing sorted for 10 years with Darmian and Shaw. We also need better than De Ligt, someone more progressive. Too early to say for the other 2

Amorim is definitely looking for something specific out of his defenders. To me, De Ligt would be better as the central defender and Lindelof on the right. I think Heaven will only play LCB.
Heaven is a left footer
Doubt he will play anywhere else other than LCB

Was quite good and seemed quite quick (compared to Lindelof). Only needs to be reminded that he is playing football and not handball.

Seen him a couple of times now. Looks very very assured for an 18 year old.

The only thing I’m taking solace in atm is just how good many of our youngsters are.

If this guy is can grab a few more sub appearances, along with maybe the odd start, that would be a huge boost for his development going into next year.

I remember thinking our front line was sorted for years with Sancho, Rashford and Martial.

Went well.
Loads of us on here thought we were set for a decade with Rafael Smalling Jones and Fabio

Looks a very shrewd signing. He looks physically and mentally ready it's just going to be a matter of gaining experience.

Decent start.

I hope we can have a summer where we're not buying a new CB for once. It's the one area we're well stocked.
We really aren’t. With Lindelof and Evans leaving, and Martinez and Shaw MIA.

I hope we give him minutes to the end of the season, and should mean Martinez’s career at United is over - albeit next season he should be on the bench as clearly won’t be fit to sell in the summer. His time is up. He’s not at all suitable.

We need pace, recovery speed in this system. Furthermore his added height will make a big difference.

Ayden can go home with his head held high. A kid, thrown into a first team game and looking like he deserved to be there every much as the others in the back line. Good for him.

Maybe not well stocked but it's not a area we should be diverting limited funds towards.

This lad (if he progresses), Yoro, De Ligt, Maguire and Mazraoui should be enough to get by. We won't be in Europe either lets not forget.

Funds need go on attack, midfield and ideally a new keeper in my opinion.

Yoro - DeLigt - Heaven

The time frame might not be palatable but the idea is there. This squad needs reinforcement but it's not without some merit. If Garnacho / Kobbie has more consistency it would be a good foundation to build from allowing recruitment to solely focus on attack and the midfield.

I think we need another CB, as we don’t have the numbers. But given the good players we do have in that area, I don’t think we need to spend a great deal, we just need additional cover.

I can see Amorim going for one of the young up and coming CBs in Portugal that he’s familiar with, either Diomande or Antonio Silva, don’t see de Light as a long term CB in this team.

I think him and Yoro will alternate for a while. I don’t think we’ll see them both on the pitch that frequently anytime soon.

This lad has it, you can see it. A few more youngsters like this, including Obi hopefully, and we can look forward to something another than misery.
I still think Obi is a way off, he’s very promising but he looks a bit like the first team is a step too far still.. which is not surprising for his age, he was only just starting to adapt to the under 21s really.
Give it another year or two though and he’ll be out there causing big problems for defenders.
We still need an experienced striker at this level.. Osimhen looks most likely

If there is a chance to pick up quality with geniune pace that would be a game changer. We need to be comfortable in a much higher line, which would reduce the running and workload in the midfield and make any press much more effective.

Impressive performance I thought. Loved him gee-ing the crowd up too.

Sign the Argentina lad that’s been mentioned, plus with him, Yoro and De Ligt and we’ve got some great youth depth there across the defence.

Looks a good player. Said it in the Fulham match day thread but there was a cut back oppo for Fulham and he was running back in toward goal and he just stopped dead and stopped the cut back instead of carrying on sprinting near post. Showed a great sense of awareness to me,.something we seem to lack at the minute.

Could be a great signing.

The wonders of playing without a huge transfer fee or expectations.

The early signs are very good.

Whether he ends up cutting it or not he is a lovely profile of centre back. Tall, strong and fast with a cultured left foot. Played really well and has done pretty much every minute he's had in the first team so far.

He even said in his early press conference that his defenders are crucial to making this system work. It’s ashame Martinez got injured.

Every manager says that, buys two, leaves, and then see their signings in need of replacing.

But...it is nice to have a LCB with athleticism.

Even a kid like Heaven gives you something Martinez doesn't.

Did he say he preferred to play CB or was it actually in midfield so that’s why he left Arsenal in the first place? He came here and is still playing CB

He seems a natural in the CB position though
