Bullshit. he's got the skill and the team needs it. If he opens the batting he gets a much longer break before he goes out to bowl as opposed to going lower down the order. There's no way batting higher up is going to hurt his bowling unless he decides to not concentrate on it (bowling). Anyway, they're not trying to turn him in to an opener. jaffer will be back. he was our second best test batsman last year.

Its not. Sachin's a long way from the ferocious batsman he was during his first 10 years of his career. Tremendously effective still but nowhere near his best. Its like watching Giggs nowadays. You know he's brilliant and you'd have him in your team every time but you know he's not going to score 'that' goal again... ever.
I'd agree about 350 is what we can expect especially with Dhoni looking like a spastic and Tendulkar not being any good at batting with the tail but we played 5 bowlers for a reason. It looks like being a really competetive match.

Considering last time we won, Aussies scored 550 in first innings. Everything is still very open.
I hope Sachin gets his 500 runs in the series. It will the first time in his career and it would be great achievement for a 34 year old. It is already his highest scoring series.
