Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Didn't notice clev and giggs as the middle two at first, risky to say the least, hopefully they'll be ok, they'll need valencia to really help but do think it's risky. Rio wasn't great last game but might have given some extra defensive solidity, hopefully we'll be able to score some goals so won't matter as much.

Oh just say it and stop trying to be subtly (sneaky).

Say what?

If a club continuously has injury problems you need to look deeper than just 'luck'. Keeping players fit or not isn't a case of 'one of those things'. There's something amiss somewhere in the chain as it seems having seasons that aren't bum-raped by injury are a rarity whereas the opposite should be true. The amount of money that goes into facilities and training and sports science and all that shite and we probably over the years couldn't have fared much worse on the injury count than had we had an old muddy pitch and a 1970s school P.E teacher in charge of training.

Our injury record compared to other clubs these last few years, many of whom won't have anywhere near the facilities and coaching we've had, needs addressing. It cannot be just bad luck.

Awful, awful luck with injuries. feck, we could field a good side with those who are out.

4-3-3 away from home? Are you nuts?

Sorry, I'll rephrase that:

4-3-3 away from home? With out midfield? Are you fecking nuts?

433 isn't particularly offensive. In fact our weakness in midfield would probably benefit from 433 to get an extra body in there.

That really isn't an inspiring team, but hopefully strong enough to get a result. The bench looks very weak as well.

It's bloody hysterical in here.

Over the moon to see Fletcher and Fabio on the bench. Hopefully both can get some minutes depending on how things are going.

Also glad Moyes hasn't written Cleverley and Welbeck off like the rest of you.

Why should we play 4-2-3-1? Do you think our wingers should be that high up when Villa play Agbonlahor up there?

Hopeful of stealing a win, and then patching a few up for midweek v Stoke in the cup.

Interesting with Fletcher.
Has he been available for a fair while now? Or is it simply a case of needing to fill 7 spaces on the bench? Fabio being there when he's been completely out of favour suggests that.

Hopeful the starting 11 can do a good job, as there's not a lot to come on, especially not in a game changing way, perhaps only Young, and I know he gets plenty of abuse on here!

So is Welbeck the target this week? Good to know. I was stupidly looking forward to seeing him get his game, being a talented homegrown player and all.

All the more so at present, with both RVP injured for the medium term and a congested Xmas-New Year fixture list just around the corner.

Moyes quite rightly has to try and get all three of our strikers ticking over and in some semblance of scoring form, even if a section on the forum would rather we muddled our way through with just two forwards.

Big game for Welbeck in his preferred position. Although I wonder if he'll swap with Januzaj at some stage...

Age? Playing so often at 32 isnt easy.

32 is hardly finished! It's the massive injuries he's had the last couple of years, it's not his age.

We've got a 40year old starting almost every other game for goodness sake!

Gonna have to win it with what's on the pitch as there's nothing on the bench to change a game. I guess Welbeck and Rooney will be playing as a front 2.

ps can i just say what a bloody crap time to get such a mad list of injuries, playing about 10 games in a month!

I would settle for stealing a win, but what I want is a good solid away win, playing the way we know United can play.

I predict us to be shit, but we'll scrape a win

Good interview this, good choice of interviewee, Sky.

I just want Evra to back his words up on the pitch, he's been as bad and as lackadaisical as anyone.

Please tell me Hernandez is injured.

We have to win today, just have to. Five games in the Premier League without a victory will be too much to take, plus it's Aston Villa so we have to win. Evra's interview now shows he does care for all those who have been doubting that and saying he doesn't after Schmeichel's comments.

Yeah, Evra is a legend. Exactly the type of player that we need in the dressing room right now.
